EA abandons Skate trademark - Skate 4 is looking unlikely

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Waiting on a response from upstream.

Probably for the best. With the direction EA is going with monetization and underdeveloped sequels, Skate 4 would've been a loot box filled "live service" with glitches galore.

They only recently reselling Skate 3 because of PewDiePie. Plus, the skateboarding craze is dead.

At least there's Project Session by an indie developer if you want your skateboarding fill.

My thoughts exactly.

Some things are just meant to die. People should stop resurrecting shit just to make more of it.

People are so nostalgic for the past that they're retroactively ruining it.

Yeah there’s no point in bringing back a franchise if you’re just gonna streamline it and just make it worse. Crowbcat exists for a reason.

To be candid, the skate series never had as much hype as the original tony hawk/tony hawk underground series of games. As well as not feeling as natural as they did compared to that shitty board-controller some games had or Guitar Hero Live. If u like skate, learn to skate, the video games are heaps more fun by endlessly more draining of someone's personal time when it comes to actually developing skills.
PS. v drunk and big boner for tony hawk underground when compared to skate.

Two very different game genres honestly. One is an arcade game meant to be heaps of fun and off the wall, whereas the other is meant to be a simulation of the sport. Both great (THUG is the best skateboarding game still) but you can't even begin to compare the two.

Good, it might not have games for a bit, but at least Skate won't be locked in the EA vault for the next century. Now let's see about them dropping the Star Wars rights and we'll be golden. The movies might be un-salvageable for the next decade, but the games still have a chance!

I thought EA only does sport games or multiplayer shooters that can be milked yearly with DLC.
