It's always been wishy washy on how much money the guy actually has made. He was for sure doing well but it he seemed to waste a ton of money. People claim that his channel was never monetized and he made all of his $$$ from cameos and superchats. If that's true, we've already seen how much money he blows on food, guns, etc, so it is reasonable to think that he's going to be broke soon.

Since Hanson is, I believe, not employed by any news organization, there’d also be no way for him to monetize an interview to get that money recovered on the backend. If he is employed, a legit news organization wouldn’t pay him for an interview since most don’t pay for interviews. You’d have to go to some tabloid site like TMZ or the Inquirer if you want to monetize this, but I strongly doubt they have any interest in giving money to anyone that has been credibly accused of being a pedofork.

Does anyone have a TL;DR of this? I have little desire to listen to almost 2 hours of this.

Edit: I skimmed through the video. It's broken into 3rds.

1/3 is a shitty recap of everything made by someone who was obviously just going off the cliffnotes. It's not worth watching at all because everyone knows this shit at this point. The 2nd 1/3 is an interview with the predator poachers. Again, not worth watching because the entire time Chris Hansen is looking down his nose at them and you can tell he thinks he's better than them despite getting famous doing the exact same thing they did. The biggest news is that Alex says the police have been in contact with him as soon recently as last week and are still actively investigating EDP. The segment ends with Chris Hansen being morally outraged by Alex's nigger joke from years ago. The last 1/3 is Chris talking to a supposed legal expert about how vigilante justice is heckin bad.

None of it is worth watching. Chris shouldn't have even made the video if this is all he has to add to it. The only thing you need to know is that the police are actively compiling evidence against EDP.

God damn, both Chet and the other guy gave just about the most unprofessional interview they possibly could have. I probably performed better in job interviews when I was 16 than they did here.

However, Chris' focus on "you said bad words, that means your other work is negated" was pretty stupid. Didn't Chris get charged with larceny for not paying for merchandise? Someone could say "well Chris, that casts doubt on the integrity of your character and negates your entire body of work both before and after" and I would still say that's a shit take. Likewise, his railing against vigilante justice seems pretty dumb when he pretty much got famous and made plenty of money doing the same thing, albeit he was always backed by local law enforcement. Weren't the people that worked with Chris baiting offenders to the sting house also vigilantes? Chris seemed pretty happy to work with them, what changed? Or does he just want to pull the ladder up behind him?

Chet seems like a moron but he gets results, Hansen's criticism of him rings hollow in this video.
