On the other hand, i've been thinking Mother's Day in approaching. I have no clue of what exactly he purchased, but apparently Barb likes it.
It could be a gift for his mom, who knows!
If the Christmas 2004 Videos are any indication, Chris is going to offer Barb to either get the coin or a photocopy of said coin and then coax/force her to take the photo, so he can keep the coin.

Also: 1 fine ounce of silver is currently valued at 16,67 Dollaridoos. Just to emphasize the discrepancy between the material value and the market value of this item.

286 idiots paying five times the market value of a metal. I should be surprised but I'm not. I've been to the pawn shop on the TV show; most of it is just to sell merch and the real stuff they actually have is all overpriced.

Chris is dumb and spends money badly

What does Chris intend to do with it? Give it to Barb so she can lose it in the hoard? Frame it? More importantly, who would want such a thing? I've seen one episode of Pawn Stars and that was enough to tell me that it isn't the type of thing to have $65 collectible coins.

What does Chris need with all that silver? My guess is that Barb finally turned into a werewolf and he needs silver bullets to put her down before the next full moon.

A less likely scenario is that he's buying dumb shite like usual. Maybe he thinks it'll make a good investment down the road.

Hey this coin alone inflates the value of her horde up to 70%!

Maybe Barb saw an infomercial about investing in gold and has started adding old coins to the hord since the economy's going to colapse any day now.

See, shows like that--Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, even old classics like the Antiques Roadshow and Cash in the Attic--are terrible for people like Barb who have a hoarding problem. They feed the delusion that old junk is full of valuable hidden 'treasures' worth some serious money. Sure, some people find rare first editions in stacks of secondhand books, or lost silent movies in old film canisters, or Babe Ruth rookie baseball cards. But most of what you find is just rubbish.
