So this is a good idea to invite people to conduct transactions outside of eBay? He must be desperate, can't wait for the issue to be resolved, at this point his slow-but-steady tugboat will likely beat his PayPal into port. He's going to have to wait until Friday for more Legos.

Sounds like his buyers are reversing transactions. Maybe they're telling Chris they don't know why the payments were reversed, but they're instigating the reversal. Lame weenery.
If you want to troll Chris, just don't buy.
