It's basically Hamlet meets Groundhog's Day, where you play as Ophelia and go through all the events leading up to Fortinbras invasion on a continuous loop. You gather knowledge and act to affect events and there are a bunch of endings you can get - everything from becoming one of Grace O'Malley's pirate crew to the traditional Ophelia death to running off with Othello, etc. It's actually pretty depressing, but then... Hamlet.
I've gotten eight out of the 12 possible endings (including the hidden ending). Once you achieve a certain milestone, you're allowed to ultimately break the time loop by achieving endings and then picking one. Once you pick one for good, you have to start all over which, if you've played the game, is super frustrating.
It's got a point and click format and by virtue of the concept, is super repetitive. It can be super hard to unlock certain endings and you'll find yourself struggling. The game can be super frustrating, especially when repeating special dialogue scene because of how they work. The art is pretty, with a watercolor aesthetic. The characters and story are easily the best part of the game, especially given some of the twists. You have to watch a lot of people die repeatedly to get anywhere. You have to try a bunch of things from delaying the Norwegian invasion to befriending some off-putting characters, to carrying out coups and assassinations. It owes a lot to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.
If you guys want walkthroughs, let me know. And if anyone has chosen all the final endings yet, which is your favorite? I haven't settled on my final ending yet because I want to achieve them all first.
