But for bands with smaller followings, it's just considered kind of tacky or just a faux pas. Like, usually you wear a band t-shirt to say you're a fan of the band. If you're at the show already, it's assumed that you are a fan, so wearing the shirt is just kind of redundant.

In my experience, (mostly in the metal scene) it's considered tacky for a band member to wear a shirt with their band logo on it. It's perfectly fine for fans at the show to do so, and makes the musicians happy.

My sister is actually unfortunately big into the whole stupid scene. Big fan of Doctor Who and Sherlock...she refers to herself on her tumblr as a "self proclaimed Anglophile," but fortunately doesn't seem to have any "kin" or "headmates" or made up pronouns. She's big into the idea that white men are responsible for all the evil throughout the history of the world...she's always been an upper middle class white American girl and our dad paid for her college, which she repaid him for by becoming a raving SJ psycho. He seems to enjoy it, though, because he's always deliberately pushing her buttons to make her freak out.

She claims you can't trust the dictionary because it was written by white men. "Racism is power+privilege." Rape culture, patriarchy, all that. She does little else besides smoke pot and complain about how she makes no money and America sucks and is just the worst and how England and Australia are so much better in every way, and how when she gets enough money she's going to live "Literally anywhere but here...or Asia...or Africa...or South America...or Eastern Europe...or Western Europe..." She'll bend over backwards to blame America for anything and absolve its enemies of anything. Our discussion on the A-Bomb was essentially her saying it was unreasonable of America to demand unconditional surrender and we should have made whatever concessions the Japanese wanted to avoid dropping the bomb.

One time I let her borrow a DVD box set of mine and when she returned it after a year, she had completely destroyed the first disc. When I said she should replace it...not even the whole thing, just the $10 first disc she ruined...she freaked out and screamed and took to Tumblr to bitch about how it was my fault and why didn't I replace it myself, because I lived at home and what expenses could I have? When I pointed out that she also lived at home and had literally no expenses outside of the enormous amounts of pot she smoked, that I had to pay for my car, car insurance, student loans, phone bill, insurance, and anything else I wanted, she replied by saying she needed the money more because how else would she afford her six month to a year long vacation in Australia?

Oh and she's 25.

Let us know how she reacts after she arrives here and gets called a cunt before she's even left the airport. If there's one thing strayans love it's saying "cunt" and "nigger" around fussy Americans, and then convincing them to eat vegemite.

My roommate is sort of in the SJW vein. She's a really sweet girl, but I try not to talk to her much because the things she says are pretty cringe-worthy.

- I'm going to business school, because I'm at a point in my life where I really just need to get a degree that will let me support myself. When I told her this, she said, "I guess that could be important in our materialist society." Of course, she's majoring in art and minoring in gender studies.

With no offense intended to anyone here, I have noticed that the level of criticism leveled at capitalism seems inversely proportional to a person's success in a capitalist society. People with a good set of job skills, a degree with real applications, and a solid resume they worked hard to build seem content with the system. Meanwhile, people who focused solely on disciplines like gender studies and philosophy, and whose skills consist of "blunt rolling", seem conveniently critical of it. I'm not claiming that it's a perfect system, but I do notice the tendency to wax philosophical on the evils of materialism when you haven't the means to indulge in it yourself.
No, capitalism isn't nice. It's rather like life in that respect. And unfortunately, life doesn't favor people who's primary function in society is language policing and whining about oppression.

In 2010 she did take a fairly noticeable turn - for some reason we were discussing how eating insects wasn't kosher (we're an apathetically Christian family) and I apparently made the worst joke ever.

"Of course eating insects isn't kosher. Jews are shape shifting insectoids from Jupiter so that would be cannibalism."

I intended it to be a joke so ridiculous that'd you would see it made fun of anti-semites more than Jews but I got BTFO for being a racist instead. Five years later and we're on friendly-ish terms but we're not close like we used to be. Can't help but think that was the final straw that broke us apart. Fuck everything.

I went to a different college than my group of friends. And one of the girls in the group turned pretty SJW, being one of the few girls, everyone else followed. I met up with them a few months later and they spent the whole time talking about "shitty attitudes" and privilege.

Really weird to see people I spent 5 years with go pretty crazy in 5 months.

Funny thing is they've isolated me recently because I am joining the Canadian Forces, and therefore I am somehow oppressing them by working for the Patriarchy!

I asked them how this one card is taken seriously whilst the rest aren't in a game about offending people, and they told me I don't understand because I've never seen or faced what trans people do. After that I sort of kept my distance.

I'm still in shock that they removed a card for being offensive. In a game about offending people.

Somebody posted a picture of themselves burning the card, and it spread around enough to get a reaction from the creators.

A sizable portion of my LGBT friends were discussing this when it happened and at first they were all "Good for them!" and I was all "Wait, how is that one phrase offensive in and of itself? Besides, isn't the whole point of the game to be offensive to pretty much everyone?" and because they are not assholes their response was "Huh. Yeah, I guess you're right."

Post a simple post explaining they're wrong, or post photographic evidence that directly contradicts them, they accuse you of either fabricating it or "YOU'RE WRONG BECAUSE I SAY YOU ARE, SHUT UP."
