There's generic words that mean anybody who unwittingly falls for a scam, like a "sucker." In this sort of situation they're being used just for their money, so they could be called a "tool."

Is cuck a good word to describe them?
I'm pretty sure "cuck" is used colloquially the same way you'd refer to somebody being "baited;" they're expecting something and are about to get it only to have it taken away. These people aren't expecting something by donating money, they're just being lied to and falling for it.

How do you describe a person who idolizes an internet celebrity and willingly gives money to the celebrity but in reality the celebrity only pretends to like this person for the money? I remember there is a word for that.
Are we describing the celebrity or the idiot giving said celebrity money?

Thank you. "Tool" is the word I'm looking for.
