The short answer is that yes, she will develop antibodies against Covid, but it's not likely to be as strong a response as if it were IM rather than SQ. While most vaccines are designed to be pretty robust in a variety of recipient patients (ethnicity, age, BMI, etc), this delivery method for Amber is less than ideal.

A recent opinion piece in The Guardian in the UK suggested that the only guidance handed down on vaccines for fat people is that they need a longer needle. This is because the vaccine has to go into muscle in order to be effective. The reason for the opinion piece was that this particular patient found this out from a friend and her doctor was unaware that a longer needle was required but upon discussion with another medical professional they agreed and gave the person the longer needle jab.

Actually, under Amber's logic, she is down 18 pounds from her highest weight of 572, thus, it is a reason to celebrate.
Unfortunately, this is what Amber wants to do. For most of us, we want the pandemic to be over so that we can travel, visit friends and family, going back to school for many, enjoying life to its fullest, but not Amber. All she likes is eating and really nothing else.
This is junior high school level squabble. Why do any of these behemoths ever act their age?
