Instead, he has a magic hammer and acts tough.

Funny thing I found about him is that other characters he plays in his show are more believable and selfaware, then his BB persona.
Well ya know, when the characters are suppossed to be 2nd bananas, they will seem more selfaware an real while your main hero, hey Linky and Erod, is made of so much ham youre waiting for the proverbial slices of breas to fall on them

I can't get over the fact that he created this chosen one narrative for himself to "bust" bad movies. Like dude, if you buy the DVD of a movie just to destroy it, you still helped support the company. You're not exactly sticking it to the proverbial man.

Funny thing you mention that, When his Idol, Doug Walker reviews a bad film, suddenly his audience wants to check it out.

Its a side effect of bad medium reviewing - someone is going to check that movie, game or something else, just to see how bad it truly is.

I think this was mentioned in the Angry Video Game Nerd movie, where a kid told the Nerd he played a game he reviewed and pointed out how bad it really was.

And to be fair, there are different kinds of "bad" people want to see for themselves. It's one thing to watch a dumb action flick like Michael Bay's Transformers if you just want to turn your brain off and enjoy the explosions, but to watch something like The Room, a movie notorious for being so awful, it somehow manages to be enjoyably hilarious is another story.

Erod is probably doing it for some symbolic thing but even then it's still stupid, even the chosen one narrative where he acts like he represents all the fanboys when he really isn't. If anything, E-Rod represents the negative attributes of a nerd/fanboy stereotype of believing they are much cooler than they really are, trying too hard to be like their idols, make narratives like they are the chosen one, romanticize "cool" nerdy/smart guys in media, and act extremely entitled.

First off got nothing to add, you summarized it perfectly. Only thing I could say is that fanboy or fangirl isn't a positive term. Sure it sounds like a super fan, but been fan of something or a fanatic isn't the same thing. That's what is fascinated to me about E-Rod, having a heart and soul in the right place, but lacking sense, charisma and vision.

He only took stuff he saw from most popular producers at the time, mashed them together in his own way, with "screw the rules" attitude, and just went for it. I admire the effort and balls to do it, but at the same time you can see the delusion he is trapped within, he just thinks that his concept works flawlessly, but its actually the opposite. It fails on so many levels.

Given Doug's recent Animaniacs review, I wonder if Erod will complain about it for Doug being too "right wing" or Doug hating the fact Animaniacs has continuity (Given Erod is all about plots in everything.)

When I see guys view count I wonder why he even tries. His numbers are so low, that you wonder who is watching his stuff, and why aren't they watching someone more entertaining. He's only redeeming factor is that he puts videos on the regular bases. Other then that, he is failure on every other level.

Most of the movies E-Rod reviews aren't even memorably bad. They're utterly forgettable.

He doesn't have a patreon and he uploads inconsistently. Im guessing it's a hobby and he actually has a job. If he does have a job, he's 99% better then the e beggars on channel autism.

He does. Also he is working in movie industry, on various project and positions. Also he is married for almost 20 years, and his wife is the producer of the show.
I already made a post breaking down his illustrious IMDB page back in May. TL;DR: most of his credits are for internet bullshit, and the handful of D-list movies that aren't might be misidentifying someone else as him (there's a Filipino sex comedy from 1999 in there, when he would've been really young).

E-Rod has less legitimate claim to "working in the movie industry" than a porn cameraman.

Well, unless he bought it used but then he needs to troll the used DVD stores around and might not get the movie he's looking for. I know that for certain movies I got for my bad movie collection I waited until I could snag a recently viewed copy of it. I'm not paying full price for a movie I hate. Any money that goes to the producers is just more incentive for them to make more of the same.

It's like people that burned their Nikes in protest over how they make their shoes in sweatshops. People actually went out and bought them from the stores just to burn. I can understand if you had an old pair and burned those but all you accomplish in buying it is giving money to the company. It's stupid.

To be fair I had to see "The Room" after Doug did his review of it and I love it. That of course was when Doug was still kinda funny and people tended not to hate watch him.

Destroying stuff after the review is something James (Angry Video Game Nerd) was doing long before. Could be an inspiration for E-Rods "busting" the movies, but even so, it so stupidly executed in BBs case.

At least James admits his inspiration was low budget movies and Troma films that he grow up with, that he emulated perfectly because he is filmmaker first and foremost. Meanwhile E-Rod didn't know what resolution he was going with in the first few episodes of the show.

James is also playing a character while he's the AVGN. From what I've seen of him in his normal day to day goings on he's a reasonable and rather charming guy. Erod? He IS the Blockbuster Buster 24/7.

He also thinks himself to be more relevant than he really is. I mean this is a guy who after CtC redid his thing and instead of busting movies would somehow enter them and teach the actors what they were doing wrong. It wasn't successful, he lost a lot of followers from it and he's back to doing what he was doing before. It's like he did what Doug did when he tried to do Demo Reel and didn't learn from it.

From what I can tell, James is introverted type of person. He has much going on inside, but is low key when it comes to expressing his emotions. That why Nerd is such a great character, because Rolfe expresses all his rage that's building up inside of him over his passive nature, and is completely deferent from actor playing it. You can see the real James in AVGN Roast:

Also James has no whiny and annoying voice E-Rod does. Block Buster Buster is just slightly pissed off E-Rod, with same voice, same mannerisms. Only Channel Awesome character I dislike more is Sad Panda, because BB at least has some traces of attitude, while Sad Panda is emo-bland.

Also, even thou James and E-Rod have wife's, James has kids (on Encyclopedia Dramatica, there is joke that kids aren't his, because of his passive nature, and more dominating wife). Regardless, while James met his future wife during the first few years of Nerd, E-Rods wife is the producer of the BlockBuster Buster.

You can argue that both show shouldn't be taking seriously, James can show his wife numbers as a result of entertaining and fun AVGN, I wonder what argument does E-Rod have for his stupid reviews with a magical hammer? Most girls/women would question his dedication to dedicate himself failed project, but I guess his wife ether loves him too much or is autistic/crazy as a bat.

He also thinks himself to be more relevant than he really is. Yeah sure, you go from asslicking Doug Walker and Channel Awesome, to teaming up with crowd of people, some who didn't want you on the site, without a question or second thinking. What a Tool!

Wait were these videos, because they seem utterly hilarious that someone with no acting talent is teaching people how to act for movies they just want a paycheck for
