I can totally understand why people would feel sorry for the anorexic person and have zero sympathy for a obese death fat person. The skinny person looks like they are being held prisoners and have no access to food and the food person looks like they are stealing all the food from everybody so the animal instinct of the human brain is to be angry at the fat and feel sorry for the skinny it’s the American culture side of it we see fat and we get angry that’s how the human mind works it offends people but is still the reality people like Tess holiday they say they are anorexic but I take one look at Eugenia cooney and I immediately realize, Tess holiday was actually lying about being anorexic

Anachans are hungry for social appreciation of their achievement. By nature of their illness they can’t be “left alone” since they require caretakers once they hit a certain point and they know this. They just expect people around to find their compulsion as important as they do.

Look at the vegan ginger. At many stages she seems hungry for social interaction (at least for IG content) and has joined “differently abled” ballet troupes, tries to be an ice skating coach, natural healing guru, attends various churches when she feels like it (then bails when they don’t cater to her and give her disabled parking spots), etc… Her TL is one long narrative of alienating everyone around her by being totally oblivious to everything but herself. I think this is one reason she started to munch, she gets more pity and social leeway being a physically sick wittle girl than a manic anorexic.

Eugenia, otoh, does seem to be isolating more than alienating but I think this is mostly because her mother has provided the perfect cocoon for her to do so. Once she alienated the little group of YT friends she was able to run back into her bedroom and ignore it all. Besides she gets the social commentary she craves about her physique from SM.

Eugenia has said she is perfectly content to live with her mom forever. I think Eugenia realizes she needs (and wants) a full time caretaker to be an apex anachan and her mom is fine with it.

One thing most older, survivor, anachans detail is how important it was to them to hear other people lament on how tiny, starved or skinny they were, so they don’t want to “be left alone to starve”. They do want people to stfu about them not eating, so if “stop hassling me about starving myself” is what you mean by “left alone” then sure.

Even Annachan supreme Ashley Issacs pulls her bag of bones out of bed so she can go on Lich parades in Target every so often and take selfies. She’s always sure to wear shorts when she goes on outings so everyone can see how incredibly starved she is. One of her very few motivations in life is to be seen in public by others so they can be shocked and awed someone so thin is still alive and shopping. It’s one of the few joys she has left.

To be fair, you're basing this on anorexic cows. Cows by nature are attention-seeking oversharers, and you don't hear about the anorexics quietly dying at home. I don't think this is indicative of the disorder in general. Many anorexics go to great lengths to hide their disorder, like wearing overly baggy clothing all the time so you can't see how skinny they are, faking eating, etc. Cows are a special subset, the disorder isn't inherently narcissistic on its own.

Similar to hoarders ending up the way they were because of trauma or some kind of OCD, but I don't often see people sympathizing with them either. You do raise a good point about starting off with trauma, leading up to bad health. Anorexia probably horrifies people more because they're being reminded every day that they're slowly dying, it's just more obvious looking.

Eugenia obviously spends all day alone in her room, so why a sofa? She doesn’t have visitors hanging out in her room. It’s like having a dining table with seating for six for someone who lives in an efficiency apt and eats alone every meal. A comfy lounge or chaise would seem like a better choice when you live in a bedroom.

It’s not just cows. I’ve been doing some reading and what a ED counselor mentioned seems to be true - anorexic fall into two categories ones that flaunt their skeletal body and ones that try to hide it. Both kinds seem to be fairly common, sort of depends of their upbringing/particular psychology.

Some will also start wearing baggy clothes because of pressure to seek treatment, hoping hiding the weight loss will get ppl to stfu and not be as concerned about their emaciated body if it’s not on open display.

Also (at least for Americans and many Westerners) fat people are a dime a dozen, while skellies are rarer and more shocking to see. So I think they get more sympathy because they look frightening and “sicker” to the average person than people with binge eating disorder, who you can find in any Walmart. Also with so much cheap fast food around, it seems more mentally ill to starve oneself than stuff one’s face, which most mammals do by instinct when they get near a food source.

maybe i'm a retard reading too much into things, but i get a serious cluster B vibe from Eugenia if that makes sense. so many of her behaviors can't be explained with just "starvation is rotting her brain" or "she's a evil narcissistic witch", and a lot of what she thinks or does is classic cluster B behaviors: being obsessed with her appearence, lacking boundaries, engaging in insane attention seeking, having extreme black-and-white thinking, et cetera. my guess is she's either a histrionic or a borderliner.

if she by some miracle of God ever decided to get better she'd need to be placed in a long-term psych unit if she wants to make it. there's so much shit she'd have to process.

Anorexia has a high death rate, but bulimia (without anorexia) only has a death rate of 1% to 3% per this medical journal article.
I'll bet deathfat status has a much higher long term death rate than bulimia (without concurrent anorexia). It won't be easily reported, because deathfats are listed as regular deaths from heart conditions, beetus, organ failure, fat-caused cancer, etc.
