I don't think Eugenia is a cackling hag reveling in pulling in unstable and mentally ill young girls into anorexia. It doesn't excuse the fact that that's exactly what she's doing, but if intentions matter at all, that's not what she's intending. I think she enjoys harming herself, going deeper and deeper into her disorder, and hurting other people is incidental, collateral damage. Unavoidable, but not necessarily intended.
People give Eugenia far too much credit for being devious. It's not as if she isn't aware that her behaviors are destructive (for both others and herself), but that her brain literally doesn't have the ability to process it in any kind of meaningful manner. I'm not saying she shouldn't be held responsible for the damage she has caused - only that she will be forever UNABLE to do so until she feeds her brain.
