I am quite sure the point of the sheep analogy was to tell everyone they are worth saving. Parable of the Shepherd was about a guy who could cut his losses and be happy with the 99 out 100 sheep but went through the trouble of finding the lost one. It's suppose to be inspiring.
I’ll have to disagree with you a bit on that one. Don’t forget a lot of prominent New Atheists were opposed to atheism+, supported Gamergate and were members of the early Anti-SJW Skeptic community (Thunderf00t & TJ come to mind). In fact, I’ve even seen a few woke types denounce New Atheism as being right-wing.
You can be an atheist without being a retard about it. I have no problem with atheists, agnostics, whatever. "I believe in God but respect your beliefs", "I don't believe in God/believe there is no God but I respect your beliefs too", "Cool", "Cool" is how it should go. Obviously militant theists are obnoxious too, but at least they usually phrase their views as "you're ignorant/misguided and I wanna help you" instead of "fuck you stop believing in a magic sky ghost lmao". Either way, it's my opinion that faith or lack thereof shouldn't be something you try to force on someone else.
