We used to do end-of-year charity events. In 2013 our charity event was raising money to send CWC a big box of stuff after his house burned down, and in 2014 we did a charity event. We stopped doing them after that because I didn't want to donate money given to me, and I didn't want to encourage people to donate if I wasn't giving anything.
This year I'd like to start up our charitable drives again, and I'd also like to try to run some large community event. These are typically disastrous, but my life would just be boring without constant disaster, so lets try it again.
Premise
Date not set in stone, but end-of-year (late octovober/november or early december) livestream. Essentially, we'd round up a bunch of EU4 players into VOIP and sperg out while I livestream it.
Each player would be representing a 501(c)3 of their choice.
Each player will have a secret goal that only I will know. The goal must be somewhat difficult, but not impossibly difficult. Think along the lines of a Hard achievement. It should take at least 100 years to accomplish and be thematic to either you, the forum, or your nation. The first player to achieve their goal will decide where non-specific donations go. I.E., if you represent Autism Awareness and we have $200 in pledged donations without a destination, those donations will go to Autism Awareness.
Every hour or so, we will take break. During these intermissions, the game will be remade. This is for technical reasons as well as giving people time to stretch their legs. We will also use this time to swap players in and out if someone is leaving. If your country has been destroyed, annexed, vassalized, or you just want to switch, this can be arranged during this time.
I will have all DLC enabled, which enables it for all players (IIRC). So keep that in mind.
Length
It'd be a full campaign. 1444 to 1821, at speed 3, is roughly 20 hours. Since I've organized it, I'll definitely be around for the entire thing, insh'Allah. The game will probably start in the morning and roll until midnight.
It will terminate without completion if:
(a) everyone else has stopped playing,
(b) the game is in such a position there is no reason to continue playing. For example, a country has taken over 50% of the supercontinent and is rotating truces while colonizing the new world and it's obvious the remaining nations cannot stop it anymore,
(c) for whatever reason the remaining players agree to cut it early.
Rules
1. Do not pick a Major if you don't intend to play for very long.
2. Do not ruin your country intentionally.
3. Do not cheat. No external programs, but cheese strategies might be acceptable against non-human players.
4. We'll probably livestream on Twitch so don't say racist things or bully unpriveleged and/or disabled and/or autismal people over VOIP.
Registering
If you're interested, let me know your country. You must be using Windows. If you use Mac or Ubuntu to play EU4, it will cause hideous synchronizing errors. I would strongly suggest playing 100 years in a real multiplayer game before committing so you know what's going on and what it feels like.
If you're going to pick a country that is major at 1444, you should be polite and consider dedicating some length of time so that you're not out at the first hour.
If you don't have any preference, but intend on joining late, it's perfectly acceptable to join as a player's colonial nation if they are OK with it.

I play a lot of minor nations with strange goals so I'm very flexible. These are countries I am currently enjoying, but I will pick last no matter what. If one of these is something you want to play, just say so. Even if they're all taken I can have fun just playing something like Ryukyu.
