so glad I deleted my account a year ago
You can't just delete your account, that's probably the worst thing to do. Your comments are still there even if you delete your account.

The correct method is to delete every single comment and all your likes, and your mentions, then set your facebook to maximum security, bind it to a different junk email address. This prevents people from snooping your timeline and impersonation, while retaining what little to no contact you might have with faggot friends.

Also supposedly this is from 2019 and was already reported on but I don't have the energy to go look for the original reportings.
It doesn’t really matter if FB already “fixed” it. Fact is, there’s still a lot to be learned. For example, if I have known email addresses of targets, I can confirm certain info.

Plus, I doubt they actually fixed anything other than using a pop up to tell users to switch their password. Any of those dormant accounts are now ripe for takeover

Tried making an account with the site. To unlock the data requires "credits" which you have to either purchase through the site or earn via posting your own dumps or information.

Edit: Found a dump where you can download the data. https://ghostbin.co/paste/gps5p
Seems safe at a glance. Zips with .txt files in them containing the data.

Check it out at your own risk though, I cannot guarantee it's 100% safe.
Just curious, where did you find this list? Is this what pops up when you unlock with credits on Raid Forums?

It's phone numbers and public Facebook information such as relationship status, workplace etc. There were no passwords or any type of chat logs. Occasional E-mail addresses.

You're still fucked. Facebook still keeps your account and all of its information on stand by encase you decide you want to return. In other words, once you create an account, its there forever.
They also create shadow profiles of people who’ve never registered from information given by family. So you don’t even need to sign up to be in their servers forever.

"The exposed data includes personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including over 32 million records on users in the US, 11 million on users in the UK, and 6 million on users in India. It includes their phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, birthdates, bios, and — in some cases — email addresses."
Oh no what a horrible thing to happen, Zuckerberg spent so much money on oculus rift and beefing up against evil Russian hackers.

Seriously though Faceberg needs to go way of MySpace ASAP. Twitter can go fuck itself too with a their paid subscribition bullshit.

At this point in time, every single piece of information you put out on Facebook should be treated as open to the public, though it frightens me to think that the vast majority of the masses don't seem to care about it. They like Big Brother, and all his diminutive iterations, watching.
I finally managed to download a copy, and for what it's worth, even my technologically clueless boomer relatives aren't showing up in it. Phone number to name / employer associations are potentially useful for spearphishing or something I suppose, but as far as data breaches go, this seems pretty shallow. I'd guess it involved some sort of enumeration of recovery phone numbers combined with associating the results to publicly accessible FB accounts or something, not an actual hack.

I suspect the the majority of us ITT have a wet dream that this is the straw that will wake boomers and normies up. That they'll finally stop partaking in the nude beach that is FB out of dignity for themselves as human beings.

That will not happen. Boomers want their cat videos and are the original coonsumers. The ONLY reason millennials and zoomers are less suscpetible to the FB idiocy is they're too busy cooming instead.

It was and still is notorious for phishing scams, which is a step down from actual hacking but the fact its still so common is still bullshit. Join any popular group on there and your spambox will be filled with messenger requests from bot accounts within a few days.
Who need bot spam when you have gullible 50 year olds warning you to not add John Smith cuz he'll hack your account or hoax warnings about a guy who leaves a note on your car and waits to ambush you?
