@Null While the word "Hacked" is flashy - it's a large misunderstanding. The leak itself is basically an a phone number enumeration attack, to which a lot of other stuff is susceptible and does not require extensive knowledge of how colors on the screen change.
We have actually messaged facebook support about the issue in 2016 and they told us to fuck off because "Out of scope".

"Hawwo dis is maikrosoft suppowa ur campuuter haz a wairus..." is the most likely thing that would happen - if anything would happen at all.
It just makes your phone number a new liability and a way for you to get doxxed if you ever linked your number to an account with your real name.
Now I'm a retard with a facebook account that has personal info on it, and I can't find myself in the dump.
You probably had your "Show my account if queried by phone number" turned off, as such you are not in the dump.
Also the dump is surely not from fucking March 16 when it first appeared.

To anyone just joining in - the "leaks" have been compiled using semi-private information from facebook and is formatted as
Code:
phone number:id:name:surname:sex:city:relationship:work:last seen

If you/your relatives had the "Allow people to find my account by my phone number" disabled - you're probably not in the leak.
If you had deleted your account before 2018 - you're not in the leak.
If you had deleted your account last week and neither from above is true - you're in the leak.

"The exposed data includes personal information of over 533 million Facebook users from 106 countries, including over 32 million records on users in the US, 11 million on users in the UK, and 6 million on users in India. It includes their phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, birthdates, bios, and — in some cases — email addresses."
If this happened to any non Big Tech company, they'd be legally taken to the fucking cleaners.
But no, not for Facebook.
Not for Twitter.
Not for Google.

Selling people's info needs to be outlawed. That's the only way this monopoly ends.

Null strikes again. He can't keep getting away with this.

Does anyone under the age of 60 still use Facebook?
Yes, mostly 30-40 year old mothers/single-mothers whom either only use it to talk to other relatives (including IM/video-chat, especially on mobile), use it as a photo album of every picture they take, play games on it, and/or attention whore or start other kinds of online drama with other people.

Facebook is a cesspool like Reddit. Zuckerborg will get dragged into congress about it. There's not much they can do about it because in all honesty websites get compromised all the time. Either some shit security or even just some cunt thats disenfranchised about their 'work culture'.

Security can only be obtained by trust and no fucker trusts facebook, the amount of data they sell on their users and shadow profiles they collect is insane and most of which used to be everything they had. The interesting thing that I hope comes from this is, some of that data is data they harvested from users which are not signed up to Facebook because this could put Facebook in a huge amount of trouble. Users who do not accept the 'policy agreement' who have profiles which I would assume would have the right to sue.

haven't posted anything on fb for more than 3 years but lots of people still private message each other and post their boring family photos on there

checks out, only the moms i know are updating their timeline regularly , getting into convos on comment boxes and sharing dumb shit on there. Almost everyone else my age is laying more low profile with their social media presence.

Man I know. There used to be a lot of German hackforums in the early 2000s. Hacksector, 1337crew, swissfaking, carders and so on.

Every single one got hacked and the admins got arrested by the police. What's funny is that it seemed like that a few full board backups got leaked by the police

If you are interested, the admin of 1337crew was a 18 year old student from Vienna. He had one of the largest botnets ever found in Europe.
13Speedtest37 was his username, and his real name was, afair, Dominik Baur.
That's weak. Those guys got nothing on HackBB & the owner OptimusCrime. Never got arrested & has the best god damn internet handle in relation to a website.

I have an old facebook account with an absurd name with a few of my friends as "family" members and one as a "coworker" but we all post absurd fake stuff for the lulz. My "coworker" and I shitpost about the supervillian lair we both work at on facebook. I used a good one of these for my profile picture: https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ and then put dumb filters on it.

We then use our accounts to stalk local city groups for political drama and to find out who the town scammers and schitzos are. Somehow it makes your account look not fake enough to be let into private groups, including the paranoid splinter private groups accusing the main private groups of crime.

I always open facebook in a VM with a VPN though, I treat it like the cancer it is.

The amount of people I see seething because facebook won't let them post wrongthink is just dumb. They obviously don't care about security anyway, so they would probably be happier in Torbaland. At least start a mailing list. It's like they are stuck in an abusive relationship with facebook.

Hey, stop talking about my mother. I've been trying to find a safe place for her photos cause I don't like how much personal info she puts on Facebook. Her password is probably my name or some dumb shit. RIP
