The hell? When did trapinch have a tail?
Or lizard-like appendages? When did it ever look like a Charmander without it's flame? When did Hitmonlee look like some sort of furry velociraptor? Why does it have a defined head and mouth?

It's like they've never seen these Pokémon before and are relying entirely on vague descriptors as a reference.

i can add my little cent over xenoverse. afaik, it took years of working for relase it. and i think there was some drama with the original game artist (emdy or smth). for the artist drama, i can't vouch, but i know that one quite prominent italian pokemon youtuber (cydonia, he even contributed some music for xenoverse) used to have the video illustrations made by them, but not anymore.

Ah, I forgot to mention... Have any of you heard of PokeFarm? (For some reason, it's also known by PokeFarm Q.)
Oh man, I found this at the perfect time. I played this for a bit during my early, early teens (The original version, Q is PokeFarm 2.0 basically.)

This fangame has had a fair bit of drama over the years, mostly from the site admin/creator Niet (Was formerly known as Kolink during PokeFarm 1.0 days). It was originally created by his then girlfriend who got mad at the people running another pokemon clicking fangame, GPX+ but after they broke up she had a mental breakdown and gave the site to Niet.
Let me see... off the top of my head, Niet sent pokemon porn to random users (One of which was underage) see's his userbase as nothing but paypiggies, has sent said paypiggies to attack GPX+ with spam and bad reviews, and was banned from said site because it came out he was actually botting and cheating at it.

There's probably a lot more, the reason I'm reminded of pokefarm is because someone on r/HobbyDrama made a list of drama that happened with the site, and one of the site owners came forward to defend Niet/the site. Mostly Niet.

I find it very curious, because while Garth's account is just under a year old, he has made no posts or comments aside from this.

I'll also leave these two sites, PokeFarm once had a word press dedicated to it's shenanigans, though it hasn't been used since 2011. there was another site that Niet would reply to, but I haven't found much luck at finding it (The only thing I remember is Niet saying that american and Japanese laws wouldn't affect him becasue he lives in England. Yeah.) And the tumblr is just an archive with some archived links to peruse through.

Interesting. There's another drama blog here:
Apparently there's been cases of pedophilia and grooming that looms around the site, as well as one of the mods, Princess Alexx, who allegedly said mean things about trannies and believing in ALM, calling BLM a racist terrorist organization. This blog seems to be more of a tea blog than actual documentation, because there's not much of anything to go by here when there's barely any screenshots and most of it is just bitching about specific users in the forum, like megaman1551, who keeps a-logging about his nephew, I guess?

I also found this:

Interesting. There's another drama blog here:
Yeah, I came across that aswell but decided against adding it to the list for the same reason you outlined (no screencaps, more tea less drama). That being said, it's admittedly hard to find the old sites that talked shit about Niet and Niet finding them to passive-aggressively comment on them, this was upwards of 8-10 years ago and the original PokeFarm website is gone. I'll keep digging for a bit more but I won't hold my breath.

So the Pokédex entries of beta gen 3 released like a year ago and somehow I only learned about them yesterday. There was an electric type imp in there so I just ran w it. I tried to reference Impidimp’s dream world art but that clearly didn’t work.

No name ideas yet but it’s the electric/dark type we deserve instead of hamberlyn but a pikachu

Kinda looks like a fusion between Elekid and Impidimp.

So I'm playing through Pokemon: Insurgence, and while the plot is falling short (attempting to be edgy + attempting to be dramatic + Legendary Spam = weak), some of the fanmade Megas & "Delta Species" are actually really well done.

For example, I'm currently caught undecided between these two badass beasts:

906.png

I like Mega Feraligatr because its still obviously Feraligatr, but maxed out and beefed up without too much excessive aesthetic details stickered on (which works for a Mega).
I like Delta Haxorus, because for a type-change, they went all-in on the type change. Instead of "its a dragon, but actually its water and steel!" they made it a fucking tiger shark with an anchor for horns.
They both just "work", and they both look badass.

They aren't updating it anymore, they have a DA page for it

Both.

Also I have a fakemon itch and I want to design something

So, Pokémon Reboot finished generation 2. All 100 of them. Here are some highlights. Some were excluded due to already being featured in this thread, like the starters and Furret.

godzilla.png

legends.png

blissey.png

Tyranitar actually isn't too far off from its original look, apart from the eye. It could genuinely work as a gigantamax form of sorts, even if the Godzilla reference is a bit on the nose. As for Lugia and Ho-Oh, on the other hand... Yeah, I don't get it. Lugia was made more bird-like and Ho-Oh's a humanoid now. Is it supposed to be a kimono?
The legendary beasts aren't too awful, though Raikou looks like electric-type Entei now, with the face and clouds spouting from it's back. Blissey's awkward fridge-shaped body makes it look like a Audino wrapped inside of something.
wooper.png

Something about the way Wooper looks here makes it look like the beta Wooper that was leaked.
sunflora.png

Out of all of them, I think Sunkern looks the most like an old Pokémon made to look more modern.
eeveelutions.png

Out of all of the reboot's Eeveelution redesigns, Umbreon looks the best by far in terms of proportions. Espeon looks too thin and noodle-limbed for my liking. I kind of like their take on Murkrow, even if it's supposed to be a witch hat and not a wizard's.
etc.png

Octillery doesn't immediately register as a octopus here, I almost thought it was some sort of shark at first glance. Delibird looks more elf-like even though it's supposed to be Santa Claus. I get their intent was to make it a Christmas Elf but the body is still red.
capoeria.png

Seems they forgot the "top" in Hitmontop, because all I'm seeing is a capoeira fighter and not a spinning top that just so happens to be a capoerista. What does it use to spin on its head, the big nose? That might explain the long neck.
Okay, I'll give them this: The clothing is more accurate to what capoeristas tend to wear compared to Hitmontop's leotard and the goofy sphere hands are gone. But if we're going to discuss accuracy, then it may not apply here because Hitmonchan wears a dress rather than boxing shorts, and Hitmonlee doesn't appear to be wearing anything.
iron man.png

If you thought the Godzilla reference was silly, here's Iron Man Scizor. Cool, but Game Freak is a Japanese company, I doubt Marvel is as popular in Japan as it is in America. I get that some Pokémon are inspired by pop culture but Pokémon ever referencing something like Marvel or DC seems a bit out there.
