I'd like to see how well this works out.
The dioramas a fucking beautiful to look at. If the whole game is like this i’ll definitelygive a go.Looks cool, but that's probably just due to my love for dioramas. The dungeon system looks neat too. Kinda sucks this will most likely be Sakaguchi and Uematsus last game, I normally hate JRPGs outside of SMT but I really liked Lost Odyssey and it's a shame a sequel will no doubt never happen now.
Terra Battle was unbalanced as fuck. Unless you wanted to grind for weeks or were around from early on, you were fucked once you hit the second season, because it was built around the idea you had been. What makes me sad is that Sakaguchi has the ambition but by his own admission, not enough resources (precisely why he's focused on mobile). I really liked Terra Battle, it was a mobile gacha game that wasn't fueled by greed but it died not too long ago because you have to be greedy in order to survive the gacha market and attempts at a sequel and spinoff were severely lackluster (which for the record, the reason why he wanted to do a game using dioramas is most likely because the spinoff was going to use claymation). So I hope the universe throws him a bone and makes this one a success.
I'm not going to disagree about the grinding but I thought it was very generous especially when you compare it to other gachas.Terra Battle was unbalanced as fuck. Unless you wanted to grind for weeks or were around from early on, you were fucked once you hit the second season, because it was built around the idea you had been.
Honestly, I have always been disappointed that there aren’t more original, non-P2W JRPGs and tactical games for phones. Modern smartphones have excellent GPUs, plenty of CPU grunt, and tons of RAM and storage. In a turn-based game, the lack of buttons isn’t a disadvantage. You can always just move units or issue commands from a list with your fingertip. The hardware is done a disservice by all the shallow, one-note mobile games out there.>mobile jRPG
>Nobuo Uematsu last project.
Kinda sad - It's some shitty cellphone game instead of a PC/Console RPG.

To Sakaguchi's credit, he's been trying to make a non-p2w model. When he was working on Terra Battle, he was inspired by Kickstarter but didn't want to beg for money and instead set goals at how many people downloaded the game; so I'm hoping for no microtransaction shitHonestly, I have always been disappointed that there aren’t more original, non-P2W JRPGs and tactical games for phones.
