The favorite national anthem thread gave me the idea for this thread, for songs that aren't really national anthems, but show great values for your country's values and that you would consider playing on your country's equivalent of our Independence Day.
The US has a lot of really great ones, especially some of the stuff that came out after 9/11. "Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)" by Toby Keith is a good example of one of those. It's got a fun sound to it, but Toby wanted to show his dedication to his country after such a huge event (especially the members of his family, such as his dad). It's a great song that I like:
As for songs released before 9/11, I like these:
