So I think we've all fought bosses that were just absolutely kick-ass to fight against. So I'm curious in finding out some of your favorites and why. Here's a few of mine, I've always loved bosses that present themselves at an equal level as you. It makes the fight that much more satisfying and fun:

Dark Link from Ocarina of Time (Unless you bitch out and cheese the fight)

Henry from No More Heroes

Lady Maria from Bloodborne

Micolash also from Bloodborne. tbh, he's a really shitty fight, but I absolutely love his hammy dialogue

Senator Armstrong - Metal Gear Rising: The fight is both hilarious and badass.

Marx - Kirby Superstar, Milky Way Wishes: Kirby games are easy right up until the final levels and boss, then it takes a sudden turn and proceeds to slap your shit by forcing you to actually get serious.

SATAN Angra - Godhand: Godhand was already a tough game, but fighting THE Fallen Angel at the end and punching his lights out makes you want to play through again.

Kefka - Final Fantasy 6: Everything about the fight is awesome. The theme Dancing Mad, the giant mountain made up of "Neo Gods" where, at the very pinnacle, floats a deranged clown who, because he finds it amusing, wants to erase existence itself.

Every colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. Those games I feel are the gold standard in terms of boss fights.

Besides that, I also enjoyed...

DMC3: Vergil

Bayonetta: Fortitudo, Balder, Jubileus

Final Fantasy IX: Kuja, Necron

Dark Souls: Ornstein and Smough, Nito, Gwyn, Artorias,

MGS3: The End, The Boss

SMT Nocturne: Matador, Daisoujou, The Riders, Lucifer

Persona 3: Nyx

Since scorptatious took my favorites.

I'll just add The Sorrow from MGS3 since his mechanic is amazing, as well as Liquid Ocelot's fist fight in MGS4 as the perfect fight to end a series on.

The Tyrant from Resident Evil 1 as just an unstoppable beast you have to try to survive.

Mary/Maria from Silent Hill 2 as just an unsettling creature to end the game on.

Majora in Majora's Mask, just the way the forms get weirder and crazier and more unnerving are amazing.

Mini-bosses but still, almost every monster contract in Witcher 3 is pretty much top notch.

The Giant Toad battle in Hearts of Stone is pretty cool. You think you can dodge his tongue and his acid spit and spam the roll move to flank him, then he JUMPS ON YOU.

The Caretaker is just annoying though. You get hit? He heals 3x the damage he does to you. And then he summons a load of zombies just so he can abuse his health-drain ability with them. Ugh.

Armored Core 4: For Answer: Otsdarva and CUBE. Pretty much you and White Glint going toe to toe with the highest ranked member in the league and a pilot whose skills come from recording the performances of various LYNX pilots. It's more of a one on one fight between the player and Otsdarva until you manage to defeat him. After that, White Glint gets defeated by CUBE and you deal with a much lighter weight but very swift opponent. Both were something of a memorable boss for me.

Armored Core Verdict Day: Unlike V's final boss who was piss-easy, especially with pre-patched shotguns and mini-guns, Verdict Day's final boss is more challenging, especially with a second phase that slowly drains your health. I mostly beaten him with a tank build using dual auto-cannons. As much as it seemed like cheesing, I would still take large amounts of damage.

Metal Gear Solid 2: The Metal Gear RAY hoard was a fun boss to go against. Granted, you're fighting a hopeless fight against a large number of RAY's but it's somewhat badass considering it's just you against an army of them. The Grand Game Plan for MGS 2 mentioned the Gurlukovich mercenaries turning against Solidus their former leader Sergei actually survived the Tanker only to get killed by one of the RAY's. Said mercenaries would however get trampled by RAY's which would of been an interesting addition.

Father Balder from Bayonetta is still one of my favourites. I love the music and the whole fight is very engaging - if you do it right you can destroy him in seconds but the same can happen to you if you're not good at dodging. The way he kills off your demons one by one is awesome and I wish the fight was longer, just to see more of it. The only thing I don't like about is the ending, since it comes a little abrupt and involves on a minigame.

I also like the final fight against Jeanne, but it's behind a 5 minute minigame which killed its replayability for me.
