“I live in Delray–no, not THAT Delray,” jokes Floridian Juggalo Ian “King Highbone” Mallory of the High Rollaz Inner Circle, a group of Morton’s List players and enthusiasts who share a passion for the self-proclaimed “End to Boredom” random-reality game released by Psychopathic Records offshoot Dark Carnival Games LLC back in 2001.

Enlisting players to go out and garner real-life experiences, the classic Juggalo game encourages teams to roll dice to determine their “quest,” which they are then asked to complete in however creative way they deem fit. Quest activities range from odd, to occult, to charitable, to dangerous, to flat-out comical, to adventurous, to spiritual.

After years of playing, or “rolling” (as Morton’s List fans call it), the typically shy Floridian Juggalo, known for his trademark black clothing and fedora, currently finds himself packing his backs and heading south of Florida on an abnormally chilly February night. His mission? To unravel one of the greatest mysteries ever known to humankind.

This Juggalo is determined to find the lost city of Atlantis.

“It all started on top of a pyramid in Tical, Guatemala, on the last day of the Mayan calendar,” recalls Mallory. “[A group of Morton’s List gamers and I] traveled there to the Mayan ruins for a Morton’s List meetup event in December 2012. After attending an authentic ritual with Mayan shamans and elders, celebrating the last day of the calendar…we rolled what was destined to be our greatest Morton’s List quest ever.”

Atop the sacred pyramid over three years ago, the players were instructed to “Find Atlantis” via the “Twilight Scroll” table (comprising the final and most extreme activities in the entire game of Morton’s List). Now, in 2016, the group has gathered up enough funds and resources to pursue their mission and is setting out for the lost city at last.

“My quest is finally coming to fruition. I rolled it over three years ago…But you gotta go hard on these Twilight Scroll quests. Some of the activities listed in [this portion of the game] seem nearly impossible…most people never do what these quests require in their entire lifetime combined, but over the next month or so, I’m going to try.”

Joined by Inner Circle members “Alligator Jesus” and “Table Master” Sara, along with Morton’s List co-creators Tall Jess and Nerdie Nathan, Mallory plans to travel to the fabled “Bimini Road” off the coast of the island of Bimini in the Bahamas, an alleged underwater ruin leading outward into the sea that Mallory estimates was discovered between 20 and 30 years ago. The underwater ruins along the Bimini Road remain a mystery to scientists and modern researchers. Once in Bimini, Mallory and his cohorts will begin diving for relics.

“[Bimini] is a mystery to everyone because no one really knows what it’s supposed to be and where it’s leading,” Mallory reflects. “And I’m grateful for Morton’s List and all it’s shown me over the years. Without this game, I never would have traveled to Guatemala, Alaska, inner-city Detroit, and now my greatest adventure…into the deep sea off the coast of the island of Bimini.”

And when asked to impart his Juggalo Family with some final words of wisdom before he takes the big plunge, Mallory laughs and humbly quips, “Geez…I hope I remember how to swim.”
