I don't think he even has the faintest idea what the song is about. It's not like Centerfold has really cerebral, tricky lyrics either. The song spells it out for the listener.

It's about having a crush on a girl in high school, thinking she's 'pure', and then one day in the future finding out that she's a slut, or at least, not as pure as the singer had hoped.

In the two character dynamic the song presents to us, Chris should probably sympathize with neither the singer or the centerfold, as he's retarded.

There's definitely a message in that song for Chris, but inevitably that's not the one he takes to heart.
