Not religious, except for the explicitly Jewish name you chose. Now of course not all Jews necessarily follow a religion, but there certainly is an extremely strong historical link.

Here's the thing: Kengle is a white Muslim convert who is not "appropriating" Arabic (and in any case, if learning a new language is appropriation, then I guess nearly everyone is guilty - except for Phil, of course, who can barely speak English, so I guess he's okay there). Kengle is a well-regarded member in his local mosque and an active participant there. He observes Ramadan and understands the Koran. Not only that, but Kengle abhors racism and especially antisemitism, and has no beef against people who hold beliefs different from him.

Then we have Phil, who doesn't believe in God but prays to Satan, and unironically wants a mass deportation/execution of Jews, Holocaust-style...after voluntarily awarding himself a Jewish appellation. This addition to being sexist, racist, transphobic, and guilty of sexual assault and of beating up his mother, obviously.

That never happened, although it is entirely possible a homeless person or a dog mistook him sleeping on the ground for a pile of garbage and inadvertently urinated on him.
