Im not a stats guy. If there was this huge market, it would be filled. Thats just how it works.
Meh, i never got into pc games so yeah....i only am referring to people who purchase. I doubt a game company would cater to people who dont pay anyways.
A lack of corporate interest in a certain demographic is proof of just that: a lack of corporate interest in a certain demographic. This is an industry whose biggest players do not even include females in their focus testing, who are busy trying to make their game into the next call of duty. The market in the far more visible AAA games isn't a problem with a lack of female interest, but a lack of marketing to females. Smaller devs and indie devs are doing just fine including female gamers in their target demographics. Again, most of these big wigs and marketing gurus don't come from a background in video games or even software, they come from a background in pizza restaurant chains and other packaged services. This isn't like a lot of other industries, and it's been very slow to evolve.
