Jan is a much more of a feminist than Wu is. In the span of about thirty seconds near the end of yesterdays first stream, he said earnestly and plainly that he wanted women to be treated better without sounding disingenuous about it. For all of the time Wu dedicates to speaking of equality, it seems to me that she cares very little about it in actuality. As I and many other people have said, her real motive is likely to garner attention and to make money.

Can we disregard the notion that every single feminist ever has been a hellion intent on castrating all males? Sure you have types like Wu but its a logical fallacy to describe every single member of a particular group as being synonymous in thought and actions. Its just as bad as when people like Wu say that all men are evil and are responsible for the world's misdeeds. Overgeneralizing isn't rational. Its unproductive and I see people fall victim to it frequently. You can find good and bad people under every classification, be it political ideology, creed, or gender.

I'm not trying to play devils advocate, I just dislike it when people make assumptions like that.

I have never seen Wu say or do anything, ever, that indicates being anything other than a Wu-ist. This egomaniac does not care in the least for any causes other than getting attention.

It's definitely a problem, but hardly the worst Wu needs to overcome to be credible.

As I've said before, Wu's brand of equality is an "Upper West Side" equality: Equality for people in her social circles and who are similarly situated. For those not familiar with NYC, the Upper West Side is artsy, affluent, and intellectual. They tend to be in favor of "social justice" as applied to encouraging artistic and expressive freedom, but about as far removed from caring about economic equality as you can get. It's leftist thought having excised any of the parts that are inconvenient for their way of life.

Of course, Wu would claim to be different because she's fighting for personal safety. So the fuck what? If someone's outside your house you can actually call the police and they'll actually come. You think black men and women have that benefit? Sure, there's some psychos on the internet, and you take your life in your hands when you post under your real name these days. It's not a safe fucking place out there. But you have the option of withdrawing, of going offline and cooling yourself down, or of retreating someplace else. Most people don't have that option.

And you aren't those people's heroine. You're just making it worse for them.
