I'd link you to Matt McMuscles "Wha Happun?! SFV" video, but i'll be nice and give you a tl;dr typed version of itWhat's wrong with SFV as a fighting game?
- Announced months after USF4. Capcom was the ONLY developer that had a habbit of releasing MULTIPLE fighting games with very little breathing room in between, creating an over-saturated market of fighting games. USF4 itself was not a minor update either, it addressed balance issues and added 5 new characters
- Used a different engine (Unreal Engine 4), and gave it to DIMPS (the guys that worked on SF4 and SFxTekken) who had no idea how to use UE4 with a rush time limit for development.
- Capcom couldn't make up their minds wtf to do with the game in the first place. At first they wanted a "realistic" looking fighter, but scrapped that blueprint for what we have now.
- Beta online test just flat-out didn't work. Multiple people couldn't even connect to the damn thing.
- Was missing basic features (like arcade/story mode) that were later added via patches.
- Broken characters... Akuma's LP LP --> LK HP Raging Demon can me "button mashed" to work rather than inputing the correct buttons
- A Shadow Falls being a horrendous story mode that does stupid shit like give little focus to Guile and Charlie's reunion... you know, that thing almost EVERYONE wanted to be a big fucking deal, but Capcom made it an afterthought (especially with Rashid constantly interrupting it because "lol comic relief character in tense moment")
- E-SPORTS focus and SJW pandering... no more Cammy/R.Mika sexy butts being shown because women body parts bad :-(
- Shadow Lady fucking everyone in the ass. You're playing SFV while she's playing MvC1
