Is it so hard to understand that this is just a simple corporate fuck up? Is it so hard to imagine that Squeenix of all companies made a dumb, shitty move like this one, nevermind the geniuses at Twitch? Not SE, who has made KH3 and every FF since then just a blatantly modded version of FFXV. Not SE who decided that 1.0 was worthy of full release in the first place. No amount of grandstanding and white knighting for PoCs is going to cover up the fact that they're actually mad about not being able to get free money. You don't like how this event is going? Get to talking to one another, set up your own event. So what if you can't hand out a recolored version of a joke mount. Big streamers consistently raid smaller ones instead of their friends. Make temporary streaming teams and do team giveaways for mogstation shit since you still want to corporate dick-suck. Generate your own increased numbers, you only have two months. The only true surprise in all this is the crowd of twelve year olds running around and spamming "lol u mad, (racial slur here)" to streamers who didn't get on this list. I haven't seen petty bullshit like that since OG Barrens and trade chat in WoW. I'd be amused if it wasn't for the streamers getting butthurt over shit that can be squelched with a response like "Ask your mom what a dick tastes like."

I think there's definitely criticism to levy against the promotion. One big one is one of the people chosen, EthysAsher, hasn't streamed in two months, and that last stream was an SNES Star Wars game. The last time he streamed FFXIV was six months ago. REALLY missing the mark on that one.
The criticism that makes me laugh however is people complaining about AnnieFuschia being chosen. Bitch, they just sponsored the hell out of her to play their game. Of course they're going to continue baiting that hook with the same content creator. How fucking stupid do you think Squeenix is?
To kick and scream about a Japanese company not picking streamers on a sensibility and criteria based SOLELY on American/European social norms screams to me fucking spoiled middle class brats. "Colonizing" them with their opinions if you will. Japanese companies give zero fucks about Alphabet people. And the quickest way to make sure they NEVER work with you in the future is to make a giant fucking stink about this. That's the quickest way to put yourself on blacklists is to air dirty laundry like this when you're perfectly capable of just discussing this behind the scenes.
Rosi is an angry black woman who thinks everyone who's white is racist and has zero awareness of how the world works. They try their hardest to get attention but it never works, and if you browse through their twitter, even other blacks call her a dumb bitch and rightfully so.

Ben plays FFXIV, but hasn't actually streamed it (save for today to get some of those drama clicks) in over 2 months, if he ever has. I get these things are kind of tricky, but a "FFXIV Streamer" would be someone who fucking streams FFXIV on a somewhat regular basis.
I wonder why FFXIV wouldn't want to sponsor this clearly family friendly content. A sexual vtuber who occasionally plays FFXIV is not really a core "FFXIV Streamer". Jesus christ.
I sometimes feel bad that the FFXIV community is so much smaller than the WoW one, but then they do shit like this and I can clearly see why it is - because the community itself is complete dogshit. A bunch of complete morons trying to rip people out of the community before it's even built and sustainable.
There are no "big" FFXIV streamers, the biggest FFXIV streamers are all WoW streamers that brought their audience over some indeterminate time ago. The second larges group of "FFXIV Streamers" are variety streamers who sometimes play FFXIV. There is no substantial FFXIV stream community and when the game itself tries to grow it by driving people to Twitch directly, people complain because "what about me" and create drama over it. It's completely embarrassing that Asmongold and a bevy of other WoW content creators (Jesse Cox, Belluar Gaming, Annie, etc) have been the force that's been massively growing the FFXIV stream community but apparently when Square Enix steps in and gives the FFXIV community a chance to grow themselves; they squander it and shit all over themselves.
EDIT - Most of these people complaining aren't FFXIV streamers, what in the absolute fuck.

I think it’s mainly the twitter community doing this, most people I’ve seen in game say those people are irrational and entitled. Others don’t even really care.
