There are some larger maps already used for a few game modes like Grand Conquest but they're typically events and not playable all the time.
They are also mostly defense missions where your 4 units are supposed to hold off an ever growing wave of enemies from basically crossing the board.

Sometimes They are castle sieges you can have 8 units at a time with a respawning roster of your units.

We might get another FE remake in a few months. I mean IntSys will need the money sooner or later.
I wish that was the case, and I especially wish they would announce a Genealogy remake already, but the lack of presence at E3 after 2 years of silence on the franchise does not bode well.

When Cipher was killed IS confirmed that Heroes was going to become the appetizer between mainline games, so yeah, gacha hell is real.

If what people speculated above about 3H being rushed, then i hope IS takes their sweet time for the next game, even more if it is a genealogy remake, I don't want that aging worse than a GameCube game.

Also this is an Advance Wars thread now.

Well, it takes around 2 years to lay down the groundwork for a game. But since FE has barely changed over the years, the only thing that should be holding them back is writing the story.

Which is crazy given how "peaks and valleys" the writing is. You'd think that they'd figure how to spin some thread out of plots that are essentially an abridgement of the character arc of an anime protagonist(s).

It should take even less time for a remake, which is considered to be one of the big possibilities for the next game. Even without going back to an older game, Fire Emblem is a series known for its use of formula in regards to story progression and characters. It shouldn’t be that hard to think of how to apply the archetypes in a way that is recognizable but not too overdone.

Three Houses is the best selling title in the franchise and they just released the first game in English for the first time even though there was seemingly no demand for it the way there was Earthbound Beginnings before that was put out. It clearly holds some importance to Nintendo.

Especially as AW was given to WayForward to do. IS have to be working on something behind the scenes

I personally hope for another game that refines 3H's design style like how Fates refined Awakening's gameplay and unit building, but I'd take a 4/5 or 6/7/8 remake

Ordinarily tired of Remakes all over the place but Fire Emblem as a series can actually benefit greatly from it. Valencia was proof of that.

3H was rushed because apparently 3.5 routes were necessary.

That was a min-maxed dice roll. The director of that game put so much of his memories and heart into that game that in the present moment, it's still a one shot piece. We'd have to hope the same should any other game be remade.

VW should have been scrapped, Claude really should have been the "Innes" between the two other lords.

Maybe we will get Days of Ruin 2 after all, but with some Fire Emblem permadeath mechanics as an optional setting.
Would even tolerate the waifu and support rank shit being thrown in so more people actually buy the game.

Would up the stakes of actually losing a CO besides the "lol I'll just abandon the tank and hop in a new one in 2 turns." Meanwhile every other soldier in your army cant do that. :story:

The game plays almost the same as fire emblem (was made by the same people no shit ) but with modern military weapons and the permadeath turned off and your units "respawn" by just building more.
