Don't be so negative. I bought Disco Elysium on the EGS website last year and RE8 back in May on Steam, they both seem to work the same to me. And why would they be the ones to make the unified launcher? All they want is to compete on price and fees so I don't think they care that much about who ends up making it. They integrated EGS into GOG Galaxy recently and while adding Itch.io to EGS was a token gesture to be used in the Apple trial it's at least a step into the right direction.

Because CDNs like Steam, uPlay, EGS, etc make giant corporations money and make consumers beholden to their platforms.

I haven't had a computer with a CD drive in almost a decade, regardless. I'm just saying I miss the age of CD-rom games, not that I'm going to start hoarding shit to take up space in my house.

Nah dude. Once USB capable head units became a thing, I stopped burning mix CDs and just loaded everything on a thumb drive. I have digital backups of all my movies, etc. Just have no practical use for a CD drive. Ironically, I have more floppies now than CDs.
