Wow. This seems pretty fucking good. It seems like a live-action idealized sort of Wreck-It-Ralph thing, but more action-packed and comedy-based. I like that.

Man, it's been 10 years since Gamer already? And I was seriously disappointed in that movie; this one looks much better.
Also, they must have REALLY high hopes to give it the first weekend in July slot. That's the spot the last two Spider-Man movie were released in.

Gamer was the first thing I thought of too, even if the premises are different.
What could possibly make you think that?
Looked pretty fun and could be a good summer film. I hope there's a bit more regarding meta humor, like at 4:00pm a bunch of kids hold up the bank because they all just got home from school, or one dude just running into the bank over and over again to grind xp. Could be a lot of fun things possible with this.
Honestly? That bit at the beginning where the mock the live action Disney remakes instantly sold me on it.

As a fan of Grand Theft Auto, I'm cautiously optimistic for this.

I was on board until they introduced the generic love interest... and then a generic bad guy.
Why?
This premise doesn't require these things. This will be just another bland Summer action movie, except with video game references instead of movie/TV references.
Also, both the director and writer don't have good movies on their resume.
