FELONY FRAUD
Allan Eric Carlson, who usually goes by the moniker "Free_AEC" (we'll get to that in a minute), is a different breed of lolcow. Rather than make autistic YouTube videos about vidya or females, Mr. Carlson has instead devoted the whole breadth of his abject mental insanity to exploring the current state of the Philadelphia Phillies, a baseball team here in the states. @Bassomatic would be happy to explain how good they are at baseball right now, I'm sure. Anyway, Allan seems to believe that the ownership of the Phillies (John Middleton, namely) is somehow involved in federal crimes and stands to gain in some way by running his team into the ground.
As best as I can tell, he genuinely believes that the Phillies' ownership's disinterest in paying huge amounts of money for players AEC thinks are good means that they are trying to defraud their fanbase. He also thinks that the Phillies' ownership has bought off sports journalists, the MLBPA, and the MLB into overlooking this issue.
In real life, the Phillies are "rebuilding," which (in a baseball context) means that all their good players are in the minor leagues (i.e. still developing) so there is no incentive to spend money on winning championships right now as their "window" isn't open yet. This happens all the time in sportsball, but AEC's butthurt is palpable.
I should note that a lot of what this guy says will probably not make a lot of sense if you do not have background knowledge of baseball. Should also note that FELONY FRAUD is kind of a calling card for this guy. /r/phillies understands le dank meme
Now, for the life of me, I can't actually find a picture of Allan Carlson. This is very perplexing because this guy has a federal (FELONY) rap sheet. His first recorded run-in with law enforcement comes in 1996 (!), when Silicon Valley's Marc Schogol notes,
The leaflet thing is addressed a little bit more in this LA Times article, which I've spoilered below because it provides some good background depth on this guy, including his likely ownership and maintenance of the Race War Van:
The vandalism of those cars, by the way, actually consisted of him shooting out their windows with a BB gun. He would have been in his 30s. Interesting to note that the article also notes how "Carlson has not worked in years and "sponges off his parents," an elderly couple living near Vineland, N.J."
But his crowning achievement has to be his massive spam campaign, apparently launched through "hacked" computers, which sent "tens of thousands of emails" to various sportswriters and editors. pp. 3-6 of this brief give more information.
In 2005, Carlson was sentenced to federal prison for four years because he obviously did it. On July 2, 2009, he was released, a little less than a year after the Phillies won the World Series. On condition of his release, AEC was given probation that involved him being limited from internet/computer access. You can see how well that worked out for him in his personal blog here where he talks all about it.
Here is his current MLB blog, which is all completely insane even if he can write a coherent sentence. There's also this.
This guy would just be a random nut if not for the fact that seemingly everybody who uses a baseball blog, discussion forum, community, whatever, has run into this guy. His retardation dates back to fucking usenet, as users here attest to.
