I hope this is the right sub-forum for this.

This has exploded in the last couple of days. I'll try to TLDR as best as I can:
Devs behind Friday the 13th have instituted new rules regarding banning. This is not in the game's TOS but only on social media and the game's website. One way to get banned is by saying "offensive" things which could be anything. A guy gets banned after calling team killers who were working with Jason "cunts" and the griefers claimed they knew the dev. Turns out this was true and the guy who cursed them out got banned but not the griefers... Even though griefing is a bannable offense.
The story got picked up. Getting a lot of attention here:
(original video has been privated)
Boogie2988 parodied the situation on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/157970285 (skip to 1:21:57)
And now the devs have been doxxed, received death threats, and their parents received death threats.
IMHO: I don't condone the doxxing and threats but I'm not surprised that it happened. The game has had a very rocky launch and the devs seem to be in their own little world. The game was released in a very buggy state, a lot of GAME BREAKING bugs/exploits remain, the devs reneged on dedicated servers on console, people are pissed over both the exclusivity of the Tom Savini-designed Jason and the fact that this particular Jason is tremendously overpowered (pay 2 win essentially), if you're unfortunate enough to own the game on console then that means you're still waiting for crucial patches to finally go through. It was a powder keg waiting to go off and this bit of hypocrisy lit the fuse.
It is a very good game but holy crap does it have problems.
