Announcement has been made that Furaffinity's admins have sold out to faggot site IMVU as of January 2015. Note that IMVU has a policy that bans artwork of an adult nature and is chock full of SJWs.

The big question is what IMVU will want in return for their acquisition. If past assimilations are any hint, they will implement a no porn policy onto FA, which will be sure to kill it for good. Furfags want their porn.

Update: Seems that Princess Piche didn't have full ownership ability to sell of FA like that. A few partners are quite.....upset that they were not even consulted let alone getting a share of the money, and legal action may be considered.

This goes beyond a no porn policy. The IMVU deal clearly shows Dragoneer signed it before he even knew what it entailed.

"IMVU reserves the right to redistribute content that has been uploaded to FurAffinity as agreed upon in page 9 of the terms of sale"

It has been revealed that the deal could potentially allow IMVU to use FurAffinity's art created by it's users as art in IMVU and sold exclusively by the company. This was Dragoneer's response.

It's also been revealed that the deal was signed back in January and he only bothered to tell anyone about it today.

From what I've read FurAffinity's popularity has hurt a bunch of far superior sites from growing. Furry websites have apparently had a reputation over the years of growing popular in their first year and then dwindling to obscurity shortly thereafter. However with FurAffinity being purchased by IMVU and potentially doing draconian and downright illegal things with it, it could see a shift in power in the community. Dragoneer is growing less and less relevant due to his own hubris and incompetence.

I'm pretty sure IMVU bought a lot of other sites and FurAffinity was just one of the ones on their radar based on it's Alexa rank. I highly doubt they researched or even cared about what "community" surrounded it.

EDIT: Never mind apparently they advertised on Furaffinity. I'm guessing they sought to buy it because they got a lot of good traffic on their advertisements there.

One can only guess that those into the MS fetish art would pay for it. Then again, the artist behind said art probably would go elsewhere since IMVU would try to claim ownership over it if it were posted.

Panderp = Arcturus, who tends to spaz out and beat his chest a lot as well as piss off everybody around him.

iirc he used to host FA back in like 2005/2006 when it was originally owned by Alkora, then held their database hostage or some shit? He's tried founding other art sites since then but would get kicked out of his own projects for being an absolute dickhead.

He used to own e621 as well and pissed people off by refusing to take peoples artwork down, before people sent in child-porn reports to the host and he sold it off to dragon-dong peddlers bad-dragon (who are also saying they're gonna make their own art site now!). He still hosts a bunch of leaked FA notes on his own site though.

So I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. I don't buy it that he knew he owned half of FA for years but didn't say anything so wouldn't upset the community.
