What makes these people think that a few schmucks over at Viacom would feel threatened by them?

Gotta give Nayolfa a few points for honesty here.

The funny thing is that before Matt Groening created The Simpsons and got it on tv his job was writing a comic strip, as well as various minimum wage jobs and uncredited/freelance writing.

Actually, although it helps to have prior experience in animation, if the finished product is good and has the potential to be profitable, I don't think that they'd be turned away for their current jobs.

If this is what qualifies as "high quality animation" nowadays, then I'm almost happy that I haven't really watched TV in years now.

I mean... seriously now? "High quality animation?"

I don't think any of these people witnessed Batman: The Animated Series.

A 20-year old show has better animation than GA, I never would have guessed.

To the show's credit, the artwork is good and the animation flows smoothly. It seems as though everybody involved (with the exception of some voice actors) have the talent needed to create a good show.

The problem is Enter. His writing isn't very good, yet he insists on writing the script, and the pitch bible, and the articles describing and promoting the show. He isn't a good lead either, he's just not good at organizing the project and informing his fans what he and his crew are doing. As a result the project is moving forward at a slow and disorganized pace.

It's like when people want to build a custom house, yet have no idea what the process behind building a house actually involves. Or like how Captain Beefheart wanted to record an album without actually knowing how to compose or record an album. So he gave the members of his band melodies, told them to use the melodies to create songs, and abused them when they argued with him. At the end, the project was a mess yet it was an entertaining mess.

Maybe my biased because of my personal tastes but i think the animations a little sub par for what he wants.

but we do agree on Enter's general lack of talent.

They're only saying that because of the lack of 2D animation these days.

It's not great, but I've definitely seen far worse artwork and far worse animation. Uncle Grandpa comes to mind, as well as Destructo Box and Baman Piderman. Beavis And Butthead had poor animation as well. Not to mention the Williams Street cartoons. The animation could be excused because the shows were good. With the exception of Uncle Grandpa, although the scripts for that show are still more interesting than GA.

The funny thing is that before Matt Groening created The Simpsons and got it on tv his job was writing a comic strip, as well as various minimum wage jobs and uncredited/freelance writing.

"Life In Hell" was one of the most successful indie comic strips ever. It ran in pretty much every US city's alternative weekly newspaper. The collections, particularly Love Is Hell, sold really well.

That's why the producers of "The Tracey Ullmann Show" contacted Groening to see if he wanted to make animated shorts for the show. He did, and the shorts spun off into their own megaphenomenon.

I will say that at least the character designs don't look like something from Sonichu. It has that going for it and not animated like that short Benthelooney made. With that said, the writing still needs a shitload of work, the concept itself is really uninspired still, and the characters still really suck too.

What I meant was that Matt didn't have animation experience before he was asked to create animation for a network. Nayolfa claimed that a network wouldn't accept the show because none of the people involved have any experience in animation, so he claimed that no matter how good the pilot is it will be rejected.

I think what Nayolfa should have said is that they have no successful professional or commercial work now or in their backgrounds. It makes sense; they don't have any credibility to making quality, so that would mean that no one would immediately fund their project and possibly lose money off of it.

Of course, that would cause Nayolfa or the Entersphere to imply that Enter isn't some animation master and/or a god among men.
