THE Game of Thrones prequel starring Naomi Watts was axed after HBO decided the £30million pilot was “too woke”.
It was to feature the first White Walker as black, put lesbian characters at the heart of the plot and make one of Ned Stark’s ancestors mixed race.
The series, in which the main theme was to be colonialism, was being run by writer and producer Jane Goldman — married to TV and radio presenter Jonathan Ross.
But after three years of work, the show — which had the working title Bloodmoon — was suddenly shelved for good this week.
HBO instead announced a different prequel called House of the Dragon, said to be more similar to the original series.
The ten-parter will be based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood.
A source said: “HBO were terrified the first prequel would scare hardcore fans. It was very different to the original series, but was very brave and bold.
“Plainly it was too ambitious for bosses who thought it might alienate viewers. The talk is that the new script is very average but deemed a safe option.
“The prequel was very woke and subversive. But they’ve decided to go for a script by a bloke and full of dragons.
“They’ve missed an open goal to do something different. Spending more than £30million and three years has been a monumental waste of time and money. There’s a lot of angry people.”

I guess the old saying is true: Go woke and go broke! Personally I was never a fan of Game of Thrones. But I don't think fans should be given a crappy prequel that deals with wokeness and not the original story.

To me, this is a good sign that woke culture is starting to enter its death throes.

I know it's way too optimistic to say for sure, but HBO is the same company that gave a woke sow like Lena Dunham cultural relevancy at one point and they also own CNN. The tide might be turning, but we don't know for sure just yet.

If an MCU film bombs at the box office in 2020, then we will know for sure that the writing is on the wall.

Here's hoping it leaks, like that infamous Wonder Woman pilot from a few years back. I might be interested just for the freak show aspect of it all. (And how would making the first White Walker black even work? The Night King wasn't black, and he was the gen-zero WW as evidenced by their critical existence failure when he got shanked. Was this guy some kind of prototype?)

Critics will lick Woke ass for brownie points in the SJHollywood crowd every day of every week. Every episode of Watchmen thus far is just the female black lead screaming WHITE MAN BAD! WHITE MAN BAD! WHITE MAN BAD! for nearly 90 minutes an episode. That is literally all it is. Even Joe Marvelmovie suffering from permanent couchlock, ready to watch whatever capeshit the magic picture frame on the wall vomits forth, is tuning that shit out. So it follows that viewer stats are bad and critics love it, you got that 100%.

Honestly, I think the surprise success of Joker despite the MSM and Woke Twitter demonizing and attacking it at every turn might've been a wake-up call. You've also got other woke media failing badly recently, most notably the new CW Batwoman show

Which is bombing badly with abysmal ratings and negative audience reactions. I'd wager that Watchmen doing as badly as it has done is probably a major reason why HBO decided to scrap the woke Game of Thrones prequel. The backlash they got from the series finale was pretty bad and they don't want to sink the franchise any further.

Watchmen tanking as badly as it did may have resulted in HBO putting two and two together to realize that going woke is a bad idea.
