So a site that provides free downloads of gog games (which is a pretty shitty thing to do in my opinion) was being threatened by a rival game piracy site (igg-games) who didn't like the competition because it's causing him to lose income from advertising on his site. Upon shutting down, they released the site's code and also doxed the shit out of igg-games.

Taking a look at this following screenshot, Mr IGG didn't even crack any of the games he had uploaded on KAT (possibly elsewhere too). However, he may have cracked some games which were donated to him that actual cracking groups weren't bothered with.

Anyway, there are some more details in the Imgur dump (i.e. PayPal, ad revenue, server accounts, etc) but without the 'help' of the morally dubious 'GOD', we wouldn't have these documents. Also thank Mr IGG for uploading his personal information onto Imgur.

It's the same mistake that fucked over celebs during numerous iCloud leaks including "the fappening". They dump all their images to a server in "the cloud" for convenience sake, and someone then hacks it easily.

In this case, this guy made every possible mistake beforehand. He used the same username everywhere online, he didn't use a private DNS service, and he reused his password everywhere which ended up in leaked password dumps. One such password happened to be used for an imgur account.

Illegal website owners don't tend to be very bright, just look at what happened to the guy who ran Silk Road.
