After GamerGate threw what little credibility mainstream game review sites had into an incinerator, and with the land grab after Total Biscuit's death finally over, I want to ask where you get most of your information about new and upcoming releases.

I just forgo game reviewers all together, look at some uncommentated footage if possible and make a judgement whether the game is for me or not. Once you play enough video games you really should get a sense for what a game will be like just from glancing at the promo material. Listening too much to reviewers means you're filling your head with their opinions on the game and you're not making up your own mind.

I liked watching videos from Mark Bussler of Classic Game Room until he stopped posting new reviews on Youtube and moved CGR to Amazon Prime, which I don't have access to.

I also enjoy StanBurdman though his reviews are mostly sarcastic reviews of old games and he's been too busy with his day job to have made any new videos lately.

For gaming news, I mostly just get it from Twitter or forums like this one, however I sometimes visit Niche Gamer.

What makes him a good reviewer (besides lulzy shitposting) is that when he says a game is fun to play, it is

I check wikipedia for release dates and critical response, and it hasn’t steered me wrong yet. So for readers like me, the highest honor a gaming journalist can get is literally a footnote in a wikipedia article.
