Final Fantasy XIII.

Yeah, it's probably my least favorite one I've played, the story's weird, the game doesn't even try to give the illusion of an open world, and some of the characters were obnoxious. But, I actually do like the combat system, the music is fantastic, it's very pretty, and the characters that didn't suck were actually kinda cool. (ie Lightning and Sazh)

Golden Axe 3 is one I can think of. If you can get past the gritty uncolorful graphics, choppy animation, and not playing as the dwarf, there's a solid old school hack n slash with branching routes. Also the magic system took a step back to the first game of the series, but they did add an ability to properly combine magic attacks in co-op, done by having both player sprites face each other and pressing the Magic button after they both nod, which is a cool touch considering that dual magic use has been a way to cheese bosses in the series since its first arcade game.

Add one for Final Fantasy XIII. While hardly perfect I had a lot of fun with it, and it had some neat ideas at the very least.

Suikoden IV got a lot of flak for slow ship travel and differences from the formula, but I found it to be pretty fun as well, especially making Schtolteheim Reinbach III a reality. It's nowhere near as good as the first or fifth, but it's still a good time. Ritapon can fuck off though.

Back on topic though, Sonic Heroes.

I like that game too

Being a Sonic/Sega sperg, I like Sonic Heroes. I have it along with Shadow the Hedgehog and two Sonic compilations burned to DVDs for my PS2.

Speaking of Shadow the Hedgehog, it's actually a decently solid Sonic game that could benefit from either the gunplay mechanic having better controls or just being a pure Sonic game without guns. Sure a lot of it is laughably edgy (which should be obvious if a meme was made from it) but this is the first time I've seen something like a Deathmatch mode put into Sonic (Well Sonic Adventure 2 had the progenitor to that with Tails vs Eggman 2 player mode), which is interesting if you don't mind the E102/Tails/Eggman shooting missions in the Sonic Adventure games.

I do remember this game from about a decade ago call Yugioh: Duelists of Roses. Its story is preposterous, and the game can be really hard at the beginning, but it did something new with the card game and it was an enjoyable game back in the day. Played it again this past summer and still enjoyed myself.

Is that the one about Druids summoning card players to Stonehenge to try and end the war between the Yorks and the Lancasters? I remember wasting a whole week of Summer once with a childhood friend laughing my ass off at that game. It was, we had to admit, surprisingly playable.
