Games you wanted to love that you just couldn't? - Or even wound up hating

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. I don't know what it is, but the three hours I've given it so far, the ( good)worldbuilding has been in service of really nothing substantial at all. The characters are all slice-of-life anime stereotypes, nothing of any true consequence has happened, and the battle system is just a slog. I hear it gets better in the later chapters, but I just don't know if I can push myself forward to hit that point. At least the music I've heard so far is good.
You're honestly not alone in that assessment, many other fans including myself have expressed their distaste towards the start of the game and how much of a slog it is to get through. It picks up steam not long after though and the rest of the games do a much better job at pacing the beginning of the game. If it weren't for the turbo function on the PC port it would be nearly unbearable.

Skyrim, I can see how people would enjoy it but overall it’s not a game for me. Middle Ages settings aren’t that fun imo
They're really not. Almost everything high fantasy bores the hell out of me, and the harder I try to enjoy it, the more I tend to loathe it. Not enjoying high fantasy is like being a paraplegic in the world of nerd shit, especially when Warcraft and LotR were all the rage.

SoulCalibur V. 'Nuff said. Many of the beloved fan favorites from the previous games were removed or killed off (Thanks alot, Bandai Namco's infamous female age rule) while many of them were replaced by forgettable and unlikable successors or kids that looked like bad anime and JRPG rejects, not to mention locking Guard Impact behind meter and a 1/4 finished story mode so bad it came off as incest fanfiction between Sophitia's unbearable kids.

Also, it put the series into a 5-6 hiatus until SoulCalibur VI was announced, even though even that game wasn't that great either due to numerous bugs and glitches and a input buffering system so bad it's right up there with SSBU.

I also couldn't stand Tekken 7 (awful newcomers, lack of content, and the absolute worst story in the series by far) and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (literally killed the entire Vs. Series thanks to terrible sales and PR, censorship (Jedah's blood, Gamora's Bendis era alternate costume, and Morrigan's overall design) along with Marvel's meddling behind the series, as well.

First time I hear of it. What does this rule say?
It means that whenever a huge timeskip happens (Tekken 2 to Tekken 3 for example), any female character that reaches past 30s is automatically forced into retirement and replaced by either a successor or her kid that has the exact same moveset as her while the male cast is A-OK to continue fighting despite being around same age or older than her. It's disgusting. 😑

The Witcher III just didnt hook me like it did everybody else. I don't hate it. It was enjoyable and beautiful. I'll probably end up firing it up again one day. I say that to myself every week.

Murder by Numbers. It's a dolled up Picross game, so of course I shouldn't have been expecting much, but I like mysteries, I liked the character designs, and I liked the music (composed by the same man that composed the music for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney).

The main character is an insufferable womanchild that rushes headfirst into danger, despite being told by an actual detective to not interfere with investigations, and is, of course, touted as being right because she somehow helps out along the way. Her best friend is a stereotypical faggot hairdresser, her co-star is an annoying cunt, she's joined by an annoying helper robot that you have to find the memories for, and the third case involves a drag queen murderer that is portrayed sympathetically. The gruff, old detective was the only character I really cared for.

And of course, Picross, the puzzle game you either love or hate. After the second case, I most definitely leaned towards the latter.

Path of Exile, couldn't stand the lack of QoL features since both the devs and the playerbase were too busy jacking themselves off to diablo and dismissed any QoL as being "casul shit", not to mention the annoying retards who had to insist endlesslt how you just had to play on hardcore, when your connection or the server could shit the bed at any time meaning you would die. It didn't help many of the hardcore players were hypochrites running alt+f4 scripts to exit the game the moment things turned ugly.
Granted, the devs did add some QoL features so the game evolved beyond 2000's game design, but that took them YEARS.

No More Heroes. I gave it a shot and I absolutely hate quick time events and button mashing. I liked the aesthetics of the game, the humor, and the cat VR pet thing but the gameplay doesn't do it for me for those two big reasons.

Ocarina of Time
I played the N64 version via the Wii U's Virtual Console. Please understand, I have nothing against the game; it just frustrates me at times. I tried it a few times, but I just couldn't get into the game after the 7-year timeskip.

Warframe
I was introduced to this game by someone who was in a very bad spot in his life. Wanting him to feel less miserable was the only reason I bothered with Warframe at all. I want to believe my participation, among other acts, helped him not kill himself, but I hated every fucking second of the game.

Dungeons and Dragons
I wanted to try playing this game for the first time. I even created a throwaway character I wouldn't be upset over losing. Of course, after I found out all that I needed to do to even begin, I abandoned the whole idea altogether. Now I just seethe cope dilate make fun of the nerds who unironically enjoy D&D while I go about my daily tasks.
