They really have this weird sense of self-importance. Every single person on earth is out to get them, every person on the street is paid to stalk them, everyone reading a sub on reddit is compiling data. We are compiling data, but "purpose driven?" - purpose: lols.

Websleuths is a forum for Internet detectives of sorts. Some users are alright, but many are retarded soccer moms who have no idea what they're talking about. There's literally a thread that's a nightly vigil for Caylee Anthony. I'm not kidding. Literally, every night, someone posts about how they're praying for her.

But what does Websleuths have to do with gangstalking?

It's the Elisa Lam subforum on there.

For context, Elisa Lam was a Canadian college student of Chinese descent who had bipolar disorder. She was staying at the Cecil Hotel. She disappeared on January 31, 2013. 19 days later, with people staying at the hotel complaining that their water tasted funny, some workers went to check on the water tank. Horrifyingly enough, they discovered that Elisa Lam's body was the source of the weird taste - they found her in the tank.

It was actually quite simple what happened. She had an episode and didn't take her medication, opened the water tank hatch (which is practically sheet metal and VERY lightweight), and climbed in for a swim and drowned. A tragic accident.

But Websleuths being Websleuths, Occam's razor is never the answer. They conclude that Elisa Lam was a victim of gangstalking, and that she was murdered by...someone, and then her body was dumped into the tank.

There's a lot of bullshit spread on the Internet, like that the lid was too heavy (It's actually really easy to open) for her to lift, and thus they conclude that she couldn't have lifted the tank.

In short, instead of recognizing it for what it is (a tragic accident), Websleuths have made it into a supposed example of "gangstalking".

Websleuths honestly deserves its own thread - they're mostly insane.

I believe the slander he's referring to is the notion that he was kept from reprising his role as David Sarif in Deux Ex: Human Revolution's sequel because of this rant (which he claimed was just comedic) and the suggestion that he might be crazy.

^ That's a psychotic delusion to be sure, but, not having any information beyond what's in the clip, it's more like she believes she's being "gaslighted" ("gaslit"?) by one or two people controlling the songs on the radio/iPod rather than a belief that dozens, hundreds, or thousands of people either orchestrate their actions amongst themselves or are being manipulated by an outside agency just to annoy her specifically.

She's not the only person to think the radio is sending personal messages to her specifically, though.

That station must just have played that "apologize to your ex" clip on an endless loop until she walked in that specific MetroPCS store, at which point they broke the loop back to regular programming. Also, that MetroPCS store must somehow have had advance information that she'd be entering.

I know a person who exhibits some of these behaviors, mostly the "everyone is out to fuck with me" stuff, but he only does this when he's under work related stress and it's only about people within his job. No doubt, he's dealt with a couple traumatic experiences at previous jobs, but he's not even doing the same kind of work anymore.

There's a couple Facebook posts I've seen being shared around the older adult circles that have big warnings about random people lurking around in stores and neighborhoods, and they honestly just sound like paranoid people who think they're being stalked, mostly because the ones making the posts go on the biggest rants in the comments.

Hypervigilance is extremely common with PTSD. If he's had traumatic experiences at work, then increased stress on the job could easily send him over the edge. I've seen extreme hypervigilance in veterans that approaches gangstalking type behavior when their stress level is elevated. Hypervigilance doesn't necessitate the paranoia required for gangstalking. It's that some bad happened to me and it might, or will, happen to me again so I better be prepared. Someone can see threats literally everywhere if it gets extreme enough, though. It generally isn't sustained and will decrease with environmental or behavioral changes. Gangstalking requires paranoid delusions that are separate from PTSD.
