So I figured that it's about time that Gawker Media- home to several infamous websites including Jezebel and Kotaku- finally deserves its own thread.
In general, Gawker itself and its writers are known to be massively hypocritical, employing lots of double standards. Some writers have become infamous for being lolcows in their own right. Patricia Hernandez of Kotaku springs to mind; I'm sure people have lots of other examples, because seriously, Gawker is practically a lolcow factory.
Gawker's sites are also notorious echo chambers, in large part due to the Kinja messaging system. The Kinja system is so atrocious that even a sizable portion of Gawker's writers and audience absolutely hate it and want to get rid of it. Basically, to even get your comment on an article accepted, you need to have it approved by the author of the article/a Kinja member who themselves has already been accepted by the community. In other words, if you post something controversial or that goes against the grain, chances are that it will never see the light of day.
