Can't really do "wins and loses matter" when you spend 9+ months doing near 2 hour long episodes of Dark, bloating stats. Gunn Club for example have like, 30+ wins. Why aren't they in the tag rankings? Only way they could fix said tally is if wins/loses only mattered on Dynamite/PPV. Make Dark null and void, a place of experimentation. Thus you don't bloat the tally.

I like AEW. It's fun for me and my gf to watch and usually doesn't require much explanation on my part. However, I am astonished by the amount of critical cock sucking the show gets. Like, some of the stuff on the show is pretty great, but there is also a good deal that I really don't care for. This current Kenny run is a good example. I don't care about Kenny Omega. He's a fine in ring wrestler, but as a character he's always been meh for me. SO why would I care abut the lamest Bullet Club leader collecting a bunch of belt? If anyone should be doing something like that, it should be the Lance Archer because he is a believable, unstoppable Monster. People who like AEW are weirdly defensive of the product, in a way that is weird to me.

I don't really follow NJPW but watching the #reeetoo wing of the IWC go full Chernobyl over Osprey was hilarious.
What the IWC (and the pearl-clutchers at large) doesn't understand is that Japan don't give a fuck. They're trying to push the United Empire faction as a thing, and the best way to do that in Japan is to have their leader win the belt.

I think the recent fracas with Marty Scurll made them think they had more pull with NJPW than they actually did.

I think they're going to be the first Trios winners hence the amount of wins or at least be one of the two teams going for the titles when they're shown to us. I do agree with the Dark situation. Wins and loses should only matter on the main show and Dynamite. Ryo has nine wins so far this year and I think she's fought once on Dynamite yet she's the Number 2 female.

I'm a little surprised that there's no mention in this thread about the New Japan Sakura Genesis results. A very eventful show.
I'm just glad the Kota Ibushi experiment is finally over. He's a self-trained, flippy Japan indy-shitter and always has been.

After watching ROH shit the bed, NJPW is realizing that the American market is worth the trouble to establish a foothold in. They'll probably keep the L.A. Dojo to feed them gaijin talent, and occasionally send people to RevPro, but the American Expansion is probably dead in the water, and the 'Muh Forbidden Door' is AEW/Uncle Dave fanfic.

New Japan is pretty high on Will and O-Kharn, and thankfully, somebody had to get the belt off of Ibushi.

It's been over a year since the main WWE roster has wrestled in front of a crowd and have lacked that sort of realtime feedback on their booking. I wonder what sort of reactions we will see at Mania. Will something they've been pushing hard get crickets, or maybe someone will be way more over than they expect. Maybe it won't even matter and the crowd will just be into everything since there hasn't been a crowd in so long.

Christ but I hope the live crowd shits all over whatever Fiend garbage bit they do at Mania.

You know they are going to spend an obscene amount of money on it.

The shit that Seth Rollins is doing is really fucking cringey; with the abundance of internet slang like "drip" and the garish shit he wears is really embarrassing to slog through

Looks like Bea Priest-oley is NXT UK bound, since she's done with Stardom. Explains that weird NJPW angle .

Someone on twitter recently did a funny callback to the time Seth got into a twitter spat with Ospreay over Ricochet being the best wrestler in the world, wrestling for the best company in the world.

Ospreay is the top guy in NJPW now and Ricochet is occasionally appearing in the background of the odd backstage segment on Main Event.

Did anyone ever send Seth that video of Hogan calling the WWF title a toy and that the belt he really wanted was the IWGP tile?

You guys watching the hof? JBL giving Eddie respect saying "there wouldn't be a jbl without Eddie" and sharing stories with the apa. Saying he will do it all over again.

And he told people those who he made feel bad they are a bunch of snowflake because

He's a wrestling God:story::story:

British bulldog will be inducted by his family with the granddaughter of the hulldog Matilda, Buffy.

Jerry lawler will be inducting the wrestlers instead of personally picked inductors.

Update 7:31
Dh smith is giving shout outs to the tag teams, owen and dynamite, im surprised the wwe acknowledges dynamite.

Update 7:41
Jushin Liger will be doing a virtual induction. This is the shortest speech so far.

2021 hall of fame

Molly's speech was mostly thanking old Friends who supported her as a teen.

Khali did a video call speech like liger.

Update: Ranjin Singh also made an appearance.

Update 9:17

It's nice seeing Ozzy in high spirits.

Update 9:28

Eric Bishoff gave a soft nod to 3-minute warning.

Update 9:55

Kane thanked his parents, his mother was a fan of his Issac yankem, he thanked Dutch, JR, and Jim Cornette for helping him get into the WWE, thanking the talent relations and behind-the-scenes people for making the WWE for what it is today. Giving a shout out for Paul bearer and The Undertaker. Calling the Undertaker Vs Kane is the best storyline in wwe. Now he thanking the wwe universe gathering than the fans thanking him.

It's funny how when AEW Young Bucks want to be babyfaces, they come off as douchebag heels, and when they want to be heels, they come off as flakey pussies. Like we're still supposed to care about Matt Jackson's ~internal conflict~ by this point.

Jericho's promo was on point though.

AEW's main event was as predicable as I imagined it would be. If wanted to watch reruns of Kenny Omega's Bullet Club I'd just watch ROH in 2016. At least the rest of show was good. It's sad when your heavy weight champion matters little and your mid card belt is the scene to watch. I hope that Darby match showed people what JD Drake could do.

I still care about his back! (or is that the other one?)

Any speech that isn't Hill Billy Jim's is going to be short in comparison for me.

I wasn’t really expecting anything from AEW this week - considering this week they’re going against NXT’s Mania Week, not to mention people possibly wanting to see NXT’s last Wednesday show, I kinda figured they’d half ass it- though there were at least some highlights. Max Castor’s rap showing he continues to give exactly 0 fucks, Jericho’s promo, Britt Baker ripping the Rankings system, and the fact that of all fuckers on the roster QT cut a halfway decent promo.

Will say though, not really liking this whole Bullet Club reunion tour - the BC ran out of steam years ago, and it wasn’t long enough ago to have full Nostalgia - they really need to stop trotting Sting out for weekly interviews that get interrupted, and why in the fuck was Mike Tyson there?

The whole Inner Circle/Pinnacle storyline is written...weird. Typically you have the babyfaces return, get a little heat back, but not utterly trash the heel. Jericho's promo was good, a little smarky at times, but good overall. The problem was they built this out of order. It should have been Jericho getting jumped (so the heels regain heat), Tyson coming in for the save, then the promo. Jericho burying the Pinnacle verbally after burying them physically doesn't make me think Pinnacle is a threat, and doesn't make me think that the Inner Circle are going to be in any kind of danger.

If it matters, Tyson was there to bolster pop ratings and likely wasn't a booking decision as much a network decision. They announced his appearance the day prior, so there was no buildup whatsoever.
