So WWE hired a woman called Kenice Mobley to write for Raw who was on a podcast this week saying she has zero interest in wrestling and all she knows is that the champion is "a big black guy called Bobby Astley".

She's allegedly a stand-up comedian based in New York.

EDIT: What the other guy a couple of post above said ^^^^^
At least it's not the first time they hired people who had no interest in wrestling. They had a "comedian" on raw back in the what? early 90s mid 90s, that didn't know wrestling and helped to ruin an already bad show when he was on commentary. Vince never learns his lessons

To get an idea of her "comedy"
At least she'll never be an onscreen talent.

You mean Rob Bartlett? He was one of the original commentators for Raw for their first three months. Replaced by Bobby Heenan in April of that year.

I thought it was six weeks. I didn't find him awful except when he kept asking the same questions. He hasn't aged well. He's 63 or something and looks 20 years older. I'm amazed he isn't in the Hall of Fame yet or asked to return for one of those Raw reunion shows.

Another insufferable person capitalizing black and unfunny. Great.

WWE goes through commentators like they do
writers. See that Adnan Virk guy that lasted like two weeks on RAW. It is what it is though.

Although part of me wonders if this writer is just working everyone online because of the rep WWE has with the smarks online and this is the kind of shit the smarks and AEW crowd just eat up like pigs in shit.

You guys seemed to have missed out on the other two black girls they hired for Smackdown, both of which have your typically woke anti-everything but black type mantra. 100% diversity hires by Steph or Nick Khan. They won't last a year.
"Wha...what do you mean Bianca Belair has to be punched by Charlotte? She should just duck out of all her offense and pin her easily!"

To be fair, Adnan quit because he couldn't handle juggling his own show and the commentary at the same time. As for writers, they want people with backgrounds in TV instead of wrestling.

You'd be surprised at how many people are credited for writing the entire script for Game of Thrones: 6 to include one person in control of the lore (who also happened to be the author of the books). Guess who's in charge of the WWE lore? That's why they don't hire wrestling fans.

God listening to you tossers whine about WWE writers being out of touch will never get old. It's literally the same arguments that have been bubbling about for 20+ years.

Isn't it weird how wrestling was always the best when you were 13-15 years old and now it's not fun anymore? Almost as if WWE has always been aimed at the youth demographic and you're not the target audience. I guarantee you if you were 13-15 years old right now you'd be thinking modern WWE is the coolest it's ever been.

I remember the fallout from Triple H beating Booker-T at Wrestlemania nearly 18 years ago and people were talking about how WWE is dead and won't last 5 years with the bad wrestling they have. Flashback to present day and they've dabbed all over any upstarts that tried to compete with them and deep down we all know that WWE will outlast AEW.

WWE wants their show to be like a soap opera, but the thing with soap opera's is that they have this thing called continuity, unless an actors character dies, that breaks a few things.

Wrestling was shit when I was 13-15 years old. You either had New Generation wrestlers who were going no where and having terrible matches or Hogan and his Legion of Doom and nothing else. Maybe the short lived Sting storyline with the Four Horseman and the new Four Horsemen after that. Seriously, the only good wrestlers on television were Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and Owen Hart in WWE and Flair, Sting, Arn, and Pillman in WCW.

SHE gets a job writing for WWE????

Christ almighty, what am I doing wrong?! I'm no creative genius, but good God almighty, I can be better than that!

This is a net loss if it means Bobby Ashley is surrounded by fewer bitches.

Brock didn't have bitches.
He had Paul though. Yes Men are no different.

Given that apparently it had nothing to do with fan reaction to the news, chances are she wasn't allowed to say what she said on the podcast or maybe not even allowed to be on it in the first place.

It's happening often within the media world. Some youngster decides to blab ahead of time that they'll be working for some company. Get chopped before the final hurdle.
