About the island arc I have to say the ending is wholesome af. Klee's mother is pretty alright for a terrorist and it's nice you have a "party" of adventurers for the coming arc. Also it's nice to have the store be achievable in a lazy afternoon with the new weapon seeming to be broken as hell on casters. Now if we can have more dps casters that would be great.
Edit: Typos, also looking back at event weapons. The new weapon is by far the strongest, I need to test it against my Skyward Atlas.

As a metawhore the lack of a crit substat is kind of annoying but I think I'm gonna max it out anyway. I still think Festering Desire is the king of freebies, but this is a pretty damn good catalyst, especially for people who don't have the BP catalyst or Widsith
Literally no way its better than a 5* but yeah I want to see what my Ning's numbers look like compared to my Lost Prayer. She uses charged attacks a ton so this is a perfect fit for her.

I don't know, Skyward Atlas feels very underwhelming and having a full ascension on the weapon might give it the edge number wise.

Also, the current thought by leakers and shit is that 1.7 will be Ayaka/Yomimya then 1.8 is going to be a rerun with Ganyu as a strong potential being run there. If it looks like Ganyu is going to end up being the rerun, and Ayaka doesn't get some crazy buff, save for Ganyu. She's so stupid broken I don't see her being crept anytime soon because she was one of those "mistake" releases where I think they underestimated the amount of damage she'd do somehow.

yeah, geo ceo is borderline broken with the shield he provides. really wish they'd buff the other geo chars somewhat as a defense-support for multiplayer, you can already create quite a few crystals with ning and albedo, but it's still a bit wonky and worse doesn't really scale up with coop-stats (mobs doing more damage) and amount of players.

would pick ganyu for the support alone, there aren't that many cryo options to begin with and only one other aggro provider with amber (RIP), don't see any of the new chars to add anything new besides bigger numbers and/or a spin on existing chars. feels like mihoyo doesn't want to open the can of works that a cryo catalyst would be given how they're still seem to struggle to balance dendro and make everything besides cryo/pyro non shit.

I'm happy about the new catalyst because every single catalyst I've found is either mediocre or only good for supports (and I never get catalyst blueprints), but I'm annoyed because I just spent a lot of time and resources upgrading one of those subpar catalysts for Yanfei to use.

Finally managed to beat fire lvl 90 Azadha with a party of Hu Tao, Diona, Noelle and water boy. The gameplay equivelent of chipping a mountain while it flings boulders at you.

That's pretty much the best way to go about it; Dvalin's a pushover, the Wolf basically can't do anything unless you stand right next to or in front of him, and Childe's more like a DPS check where you either blaze through his forms or he murders you. Azhdaha is pretty much the one weekly boss you can't just blindly attack your way through and the big bastard just won't drop the parts I need for Yanfei's talents.

I also run Diona and Noelle for the double shield (though having two methods of healing is nice too) and use Keqing/Xiangling as my heavy hitters. Xiangling because she does lots of physical damage and can throw out her bear for pyro procs/attack boosts, Keqing for her stupid high crit rate/damage. Quite appropriately, I've named that particular party "Murder".

The big problem is the upped resistance to elements 1/3 of the way into the fight, which makes the ice/water forms alright but the fire/lightning a slog. Maybe if I put a lot more into Ningguanng I could use her but just standing whaling on him for five minutes is soul crushing as it is.

on top of that some combinations are just aids, like cryo/electro, because sure I like dodging shit while buried with AOEs all over the place which gives me a dot that basically rapes me to death (bonus points if it's something fun like cryo/pyro)

got the BP catalyst (don't feel it and only really good for the crit stat) and then eye of perception r3 simply by random chance, of course those are both leveled to 90/80...
depending on the mechanic of the cryo catalyst char (if that ever comes out) the event catalyst will probably beat frostbearer too. the other crafted are not even worth mentioning unless you use them on sucrose and barb (or lisa if you're masochistic enough for that).

I run double geo for bonus damage from shields (which you want to have anyway), diona and then in phase 3 I just nuke it with my fischl machinegun via superconduct #yolo style because fuck that shit. without geo ceo I don't event wanna imagine what turbo cancer that boss would be.

Only used twice though. Not bad a choice, maybe pair up with Jean/Sucrose for resonance.
A mediocre VV set still does ok damage. Fully charged E can help idle through the stomps. Q has okay damage on its own but you probably want it to apply hydro something helpful that Azhdaha doesn't like.

Edit: Above was actually pre -EM buff so he should do much better now, especially at 90. Equip a DPS weapon like rust perhaps, and plink away between Q. Still debating whether to blow resin for EM VV.

Yeah Lawachurls, Geovishaps, and Azhdaha are starting to annoy me and make me use Ning less. Glad I got Eula and Klee right when they added a fucking Geo Lawachurl to abyss floor 12.

If we're already on the topic. I'm growing real tired of enemies that can teleport around the battlefield like the new island boss. It's lazy game design that just makes combat a matter of running after the enemies.

I always forget just how ridiculous it is to get max points in these events. The time limit + max hp modifier is literally a ganyu/hu tao/whale check. I haven't played the oceanid stage yet but at least for the vishap I got 6050 or whatever the highest was when you turn down the timer one level.

It's incredibly tedious because it's flying all over the place and you can't attack it normally most of the time. Unless you have Ganyu you're just gonna be running laps around the arena for 95% of the fight.

Never bothered with max points past the hypostasis event, all those modifiers are pure cancer.

I didn’t mind the Oceanid Event boss, but I have Ganyu and was getting tired of Wack a Minion.

That said yeah these “DIY Domain” Events are clearly something an intern cooks up in less than 20 minutes, and even over on Facebook (I’m only on that site for 2 Groups and Meme Pages at this point) people are putting on Genshins announcement that this style of event is garbage (along with begging for Android Controller Support). Fingers crossed MHY listens to the Feedback, but they’re from West Taiwan so I’m not gonna hold my breath on it
