Geography Now - proof that even neurotypicals can learn about the world.

I just thought I'd share this awesome YouTube channel with you guys, called Geography Now. It's an educational show that aims to make a profile video for each and every single fully sovereign country recognised by the United Nations, the most recent one being on Portugal, and the Qatar episode coming out very soon at the time of creating this thread.

Hosted by travel enthusiast Paul "Barby" Barbato, Geography Now covers each country in segments focusing on the political geography (borders, neighbours and territorial disputes), physical geography (the terrain and climate), demographics (the largest ethnic groups, cultural cues and a brief history lesson), and diplomatic relations with other countries (the "Friend Zone" as it's called on this show). There is also a spinoff series called Flag/Fan Fridays, in which Barby examines the flag of each country and discusses the symbolism thereof, any previous flags the country once had, and the coat-of-arms/emblem/seal (which used to be discussed as the first segment on the main series, right up until the Cuba episode), and opens fan mail from his subscribers, the "Geograpeeps".

As a geography buff myself, I marathon the series from time to time (yes, even the obscure African nations), and I thought I'd share the Liechtenstein episode in particular. It's a tiny landlocked country in the European Alps, known for being a tax haven and rather conservative compared to the rest of Europe. (It's not an EU member, and they didn't even let women vote until 1984.) It's quite a quaint little country that I'd love to visit someday when my family and I go on holiday in Europe, and I thought I'd share its episode with you guys, so you can learn about it yourselves. :)

Also, I don't think he knows what "polysynthetic" means - I guess he's not much of a linguist guy. I would recommend Langfocus or NativLang for that area of expertise.

NEW EPISODE!

This time it's on Qatar (see pronunciation guide below), a stubby little peninsular nation in the Middle East, where the majority of the population consist of expats - I'm really not joking.

NOTE: In the English-speaking world, the country's name is generally pronounced "kuh-TAR"; however, in the Gulf countries, which include Qatar, it is pronounced like "guitar", and the rest of the Arab world pronounces it like "cutter", but with the "c" sound further back in the mouth.

I'm excited for the Romania episode! I've been waiting for it since Moldova, and it's finally coming!

And in case you're wondering, here's Moldova's episode:

NEW EPISODE!

Yep, it's the long-awaited Romania episode I mentioned last post. Let's learn about this lovely land of vampires, shall we?

And I'm super psyched because Russia is coming up next! I've been waiting so long for this one as well, because... you know, it's Russia, and everyone knows Russia.

But for now, here's a video Barbs made a while back about the republics of Russia - administrative divisons, like states or provinces, that have their own distinct people groups and basically consider themselves their own nations, similar to the autonomous communities of Spain or China.

...plus their corresponding Flag Fridays episodes (for those that have them):

Also, I'd like to point out that the Kunta Kinteh Island was colonised by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, not Latvia as Barbs stated in the latter country's episode - I think he got it mixed up with Lithuania.

And for the record, the only reason I triple-posted just now is because this site only allows 10 pieces of media per post. Just thought I'd point that out, and I apologise for the inconvenience.

Well, guys - the long-awaited Russia episode is out now, as is the episode on Rwanda. Enjoy! :)

Barbs also came out with a video explaining the territories of the United States (e.g. Puerto Rico, Guam, etc.):

Next up are the three "Saint" countries in the Caribbean. I'm excited!

Go neck yourself, sperg. Nobody cares about your autistic "special interests". And nobody needs to learn the countries, because it's not needed in your everyday life.
Bruh, you are literally the same as he is. Right down to the origin. The only difference is while Samuel here wants to fuck a fly, you want to fuck a fish

Speaking of autism, a classic symptom of real, bona-fide autism is the tendency to separate academic subjects into binary categories of "worthy" and "worthless" based on real-life applicability, and then to type up screeds about people wasting their time on the latter at all.

But wait a minute - aren't neurotypicals the ones who complain about how certain subjects in school are pointless, and that instead schools should teach how to pay taxes? (Where do you think the mitochondria meme came from?) Because, last I checked, autistics were the ones obsessed with memorising all sorts of pointless information, whether it be about geography, biology, music, etc., while neurotypicals are all like, "OMG, WHO DA HELL CARES??!!!!"

Or do you also think GradeAUnderA is autistic because he complained that learning about chlorophyll or the Great Fire of London was less important than learning how to do taxes or get a mortgage?

This is another thing I really don't get about the site - literally any flaw you see in me or anyone else you despise, you miscontrue that as autism, even when it's more of a neurotypical trait, as seen with this example. Or do you also think Bill Cosby is autistic because he sexually assaulted women? I'm not saying that's a primarily neurotypical thing, but I'd hardly call it an autistic trait either.
