Apparently this rambo guy has been threatening police and when they finally went to go deal with him, he lured them into an ambush at his hut where he disarmed all four of them somehow before making his own escape. He's had other run ins with the law apparently. They say in the article he use to be security.

You’re getting your units mixed up. 5.57743 feet is 5 feet + .57743*12inches or ~5’ 6.9” or about 5’7”

It confused me too because I started this comment arguing that 5.57743 was much closer to 5.6 than 5.5 and then I realized the units made no sense

Speaking of forest "Rambo's", in Poland we have a situation with some crazy Afghan veteran hiding in the forest with a puma, because it's illegal for him to own it. Hundreds of policemen with helicopters and drones are trying to track him down. All legality aside, it's a pretty lolworthy story too, that so many police forces are focusing on tracking down a dude with a puma.

There is this Afghanistan veteran called Kamil Stanek, who has adopted a female puma named Nubia in Czechia and raised her, but it's illegal to own dangerous animals in Poland, so they came to his house to take her away, and made sure he wouldn't escape by car, so he just escaped with the puma into the forest, and they've mobilized about 200 policemen, including a helicopter and a drone. They've eventually found him, took away the puma to the zoo, but Kamil can still visit her in the zoo.

The zoo has made up a whole bunch of lies about how the puma was being held in a small cage, or that Kamil was threatening the zoo workers that came to take away the puma at his house with a knife, but in fact he was putting it to his throat saying that he'd rather kill himself than give the puma away. And the zoo is blocking comments that say the zoo has lied about the situation or mentioning the shady past of the current director of the zoo, which includes her owning an illegal cat farm (which she wasn't persecuted for even though it was illegal). Also, that zoo director, Ewa Zgrabczyńska, was also criticized for doing a shit job at running the zoo.

Note that I grabbed all of this info from some right wing portal, but I think it covers the story pretty well.
