It's sad how her development has been re.tarded. I read somewhere that about the age you become addicted to something is the age your development stops, because you don't learn adult ways of solving problems, you continually rely on the addiction.
I know she was a fat kid but I bet by 7th grade it was a full-fledged addiction and that became her permanent mental age. She'll be telling stories about hanging out in school bathrooms when she's 40.
