Gee, maybe asking a bunch of questions at the pain clinic about whether and when they drug test you, and asking multiple people repeatedly, might cause you to get flagged.

I was looking through Daves blog to see if I could find any posts that give insight on how exactly he lost custody of Smidge, and I came across two that were particularly interesting.

One reveals that he has been in prison before

Second, there was a post about how he was barred from getting pain meds (mostly out of his own stupidity). Here's the rest of the post for reference (currently unable to archive, I'll get to it as soon as possible)

Definitely sounds like he's been flagged. I'm also on chronic pain meds and while I have even been to doctor's offices warning you must sign paperwork if you get pain meds-- I've never had to fill out paperwork to receive even controlled drugs. Because I'm not flagged. He must have it in his med records he was an addict and/or was found guilty of a drug offense at some point.

That makes a lot of sense, I have a family member with it as well, and she's never had an issue with getting pain meds either.

A drug charge would definitely be a reason for the courts to take Smidge away, they don't tend to fuck around with druggies.

If I was gonna guess; opioids. That he can't have anything but NSAIDs unless he goes to a special clinic where they have multiple protocols for managing the patients are a big clue. This is not the typical experience of someone on long-term pain meds.

Nowadays with congress cracking down on opioid use many doctors are reluctant to prescribe it to anyone, true. But there are other pain meds, I'm on non-opioid pain meds, and they work just about as well as opioids I've taken so long as I stay on schedule. That Dave insisted only an opioid do the trick...well I understand why his doctor refer him to such a place. He probably flagged the file too.

Yeah, he currently lives in Vinco, PA (which is like a little backwater town close to Johnstown). He's also lived in Ebensburg and Altoona as well.

The site I used didn't find any. Didn't find any records of being in prison, either. I'm not going to say that means that Dave's lying, just that those records didn't turn up.

But I'm not as talented an internet sleuth as others on this forum.

It wouldn't surprise me if Dave counted being in jail for a night as an actual stint in prison, and is just making the sound more dramatic for attention.

Which...still doesn't make sense because you can get your gender changed on IDs so even if that was posted before the gay marriage legalization it still wouldn't be much of an excuse.
(But I'm not very well versed in the legalese of marriage rights.)

Idk if this has been said already, but "Endangering a child" is a blanket term for "you done fucked up in front of a kid"; how badly you fucked up depends on the state and courts. So for this thing to have supervised visits, she done really fucked up. I don't want to say it, but I do believe she let her daughter be sexually abused somehow.

That was pretty much my thought process too.

He's female-to-male (had a kid and everything), but hasn't taken testosterone or had surgery or anything like that. I had assumed he was at least on testosterone, but according to his tumblr "about" he isn't, so either that's out of date or he's just naturally greasy. But that said, although he calls himself "masculine" and "trans*" it seems as though he doesn't want to be an actual 100% man. His dA lists gender as "other", too. And if he "can't get married" to a woman then I'm guessing he's not pushing all that hard to get his sex (or name?) changed legally.

Go figure, I'm calling it a "he" because it at least looks like one, more than the pictures posted in the "mlm" thread. Also upholding the stereotypically masculine role of being an absent parent. But, yeah. Technically it's a really ugly woman, that calls itself "masculine" if not outright male.

I imagine it could very well be drug-related as well.

I wouldn't put it past him to drive around with the kid in the car while fucked up and get into an accident or shooting up in front of her or something of that nature.
