Economics and import laws mean its actually usually easier to domestically manufacture most pharmaceuticals. Most of their cost doesn't come from manufacturing or input materials, its discovering it in the first place and finding a consistent manufacturing process. Once that RnD is done, its pennies on the dose usually. Most cross border drug trade is for specialist drugs, or in situations where a drug is patented in one country but not another, so it can be made off patent in the latter and imported as a second market option in the former.

thats the funny thing, you'd think customs would be on the lookout for drugs, but it turns out its stuff like wood or bologna or other common stuff that is less about how dangerous it is and more the cost savings if you bypass the red tape.

So are the Republicans here. I’m talking about the voters. Blue comes from the big cities and coasts where the transplants go. They don’t go to Bakersfield and Redding. The exception is Imperial County which is blue because Hispanics.

Gas prices dictate food prices, every time you see a headline like this: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/biden-alaska-oil-gas-lease-sale-canceled/ expect an increase on price somewhere between 7%-15%. All those tractors require diesel and with the prices going through the fucking roof for diesel fuel the farmers expect huge bumps as the food companies raise prices in advance of expected increases on wholesale goods. Food prices are a leading indicator of expected energy crisis. The gas companies have realized they're dealing with a hostile administration so they just gave up exploring and setting up new wells. Tough luck for us, the prices will spike and they'll make more money per barrel because of this climate change hysteria.
