I'm sure you need to have connections to get involved in the darker stuff on the darkweb, since if they're going to commit a crime they probably only want people they know and can trust there to witness it.
Honestly when they were talking about knowing people in sex trafficking rings it seemed like some exceptional larping to me too. But what if they have some kind of connection?
