Hmmm...

Going back through the Gen thread, I note that I mentioned his wiki not having gone down before November 21st, and everybody noted the mass purge of the DA account on the 23rd. He was active on DA before mass-blocking comments at least around the middle of November.

Kind of hard for her to fail to contact him for months when she's neither been gone that long, nor has he possibly been dead for more than a month as somebody with only his log in credentials could purge everything that's now gone.

And he almost pulled it off, too. Except he had to ask his "girlfriend" to try and put the final nail in his coffin. All she's done is accidentally rip the damn cover off to reveal the coffin was empty the whole time.

So now that Pilot Epic 3 is not going to be finished, can I claim rights to the Myth of the Legendary Warrior? The website says the copyright only last for the rest of 2014 and, well, 2015 is right around the corner.

A DEAD person wouldn't need to renew the copyright. So I call dibs.

I bet you could write Myth of the Legendary warrior 10 billion times better than Jay could.

The only thing that makes doubt that this is a :ruse: is that he didn't use suicide as a threat when he posted here or DA. Usually, the sociopaths that would do that first say "omg if you bullies don't stop, I'll kill myself!" like Vade did. Of course, Jay was not the most clever sociopath in the world so he's probably faking.

If not, good riddance. The children of Howard County, MD are just a little bit safer.

I know this is unlikely, but I'm tired and this is funny so stick with me. What if Jay's mom was behind this whole thing? She found out about his madness online, maybe from weens, and marches him to the computer to DFE. A short time later, his internet girlfriend calls up, and Mom continues her war against the empire by giving a terse "He's dead as far as you're concerned, fuck off" (if not in so many words), then cuts the internet down for good. Perhaps she then cuts off his mullet, and with that final stroke he becomes a human being.

Like I said: unlikely, but fun to think about.

Copyright registrations may expire, but they have no legal significance outside of bureaucracy. Copyright itself automatically lasts long after the creator's death (70 years in the US). Of course, Jay sounds like the kind of person who wouldn't want to waste any of those precious years by being dead and not being able to enjoy this vast media empire he created.

To me, this looks like Mandy has grown distraught that Jay has stopped talking to her.

In her grief, she posts this - believing it to be possible but hoping Jay will break his silence to correct her...

I'm pretty sure if Jay actually did pass away, Mandy probably wouldn't have posted this underneath the journal entry:

To me the more likely scenario, if this message was actually sent, is that his mother finally intervened and told him he should delete everything about himself from the internet. A lot of sociopaths will temporarily abandon their true desires and act extremely obedient towards those in authority to gain their trust, with the ultimate goal of being offered a position of authority themselves. Not only was Jay fixated about never breaking the law, he also perceived his mother as an ultimate authority (his comics being "mom-approved "says it all). If she asked him to delete everything about himself on the internet, I wouldn't put it past him to comply without question.

If he was the one to message Mandy as his mother that he died, it may well reflect in his mind that the deletion of his internet presence is the death of "The Golden Knight", once again over-exaggerating the importance of his presence. Jay certainly had difficulty separating fiction from reality, so in his head he may see having to delete himself on the internet synonymous with the real life death of his Mary Sue persona, once again avoiding having to take responsibility for his words and actions.

Whether or not this is true, either way I don't think we'll be hearing from Jimmy Gein Jay Geis any time soon.

I'm convinced that Jay's ego won't let him stay "dead" for long. He craves attention, and he loves being at the center of it. When he's supposed to be dead, he's not able to actively seek said attention -- least not online, any way. He'll probably lurk around places quietly, and he'll see people talk about things in regards to him that he deems "untrue", and will just end up popping up to defend himself. Either that or create a sockpuppet to do it.

Not the first time I've witnessed somebody fake their death online.

Same here. The forum in question sadly got shut down about two years ago, but I remember that, on a wrestling forum I frequented, a long time member "passed away" in a car accident. Understandably, people on the forum were upset about it, they made a whole dedication thread to him, named a subforum in his honor, the works.

Cut to about a year and a half later, who pops up but our supposedly dead forumer. What does he say to everyone upon his arrival? "Ha, ha! I fooled you guys good, didn't I?"

Not surprisingly, the other members didn't take to kindly to being deceived like this, and they wound up running the guy off the forum.

I know the "Jay's ego is too big for him to commit suicide", but unless he had some sort of breakdown, he also has too big of an ego to delete everything. I think the "mother forces him to delete everything and cuts Internet down" is a more likely scenario than the "Jay is actually dead" and "It's all a :ruse:" scenarios.

I actually have a completely unverified theory that he somehow got into trouble at work because of his online presence. Think about it, new weird co-worker shows up with power-puff obsession and "booming voice", he seems a little off so, you know, someone decides to google him. And then they find our thread...and the Christmas story journal...and his creepy drawn necrophilia porn....and his lovely, "I would murder people if it weren't illegal" journals. It's not unreasonable to let someone go for something like that, really. But if that happened, I bet his mother and father would probably force him to delete everything as punishment ( and take away his big boy computer time). Just my theory, anyway!
